On January 6, armed Trumpist militias will be rallying in DC, at Trump's orders. It's highly likely that they'll try to storm the Capitol after it certifies Joe Biden's win. I don't think this has sunk in yet.

is the first live Sat night TV we’ve watched as a family for years. We were practically forced by my husband to tune in - much rolling of eyes ensued. Within minutes the whole family was hooked. Even (especially?) the 17 year old girl… It’s 1992 and I’m happy. Bravo.
Hold onto your hats (literally) as we see another named storm this weekend, but no, it's STILL NOT Ellen!

So many “should I cancel my plans/will I be safe?” type questions coming my way. I can’t tell you how to live your life, but I’ll just mention that I have organised for my children and I to stay in and cook, play board games and make lego all day tomorrow...

Today has been a shit day. A terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. My friends, colleagues, esteemed ones, all of you... you don’t deserve this. And once more, for the record.. We. Are. Not. Netflix. Good luck finding your regional news, radio or tv, on there. Now, tequila.
Always wanted to do this…
@WaltDisneyWorld
on my actual birthday! Every bit as magical as I thought it would be. Thank you so much
#Epcot
for a wonderful day!
Gotta get something off my chest (not for the first time)... have read it a lot of times in the past couple of days... For the record, we weather presenters, whether with met background or not, do not “just read off an autocue”. There’s no autocue for us, it’s for newsreaders.
Just out of

Horrendous. Absolutely horrendous. And if your politics lead you to publicly say anything to the contrary you should be ashamed and reconsider your position as a human being.
So proud and honoured to have been made a Fellow of

This acer in my garden puts on a tremendous display every autumn but it’s absolutely outdone itself this year. I’m standing, sipping coffee, just staring at it in awe. 🍂
It is NOT our normal summer.
It is NOT the same as 1976.
It is NOT something we can easily cope with in the UK.
Our homes and infrastructure are not geared up for this.
It IS extreme.
It IS life-threatening.

Six months ago I fell and broke my arm. It was a small break but it hasn’t healed well and won’t straighten. I’ve been told it may never be fully straight again, but I need to do some regular physio on it so I’m taking some time off to do that and travel a bit. Anon x
9.37amUTC - this minute the Northern and Southern hemispheres are receiving the sun's rays equally... now we emerge into spring, and the southern hemisphere falls into autumn. Longer days, warmer sunshine, emerging flora and fauna - it's the best season isn't it?
#SpringEquinox
Well it was utterly beautiful and brilliant and awe-inspiring and soul soothing and life-affirming and worth the wait. The softness. The stillness. The glow. And now hot chocolates. Perfect Sunday. Perfect.

The happiest of birthdays to my gorgeous work wife and dear friend

What a ride 2023: so many highs and very few lows. Leaving the year behind after a wonderful Christmas trip, with vodka, blinis (not pancakes!) and

So my daughter just did this! She raised over £500 for

to make a wig for children with cancer. Very proud of her. In honour of all the children who aren’t as lucky with their health as her. Xx
The media: it’s social media’s fault.
Social media: it’s the media’s fault.
It’s all our faults.
Is this really the world I’m battling so hard to bring my children up as decent, kind human beings to live in? Horrendous.
Broken wing! A bad fall yesterday left me with a classic radial head fracture. I’ve also got a shoulder impingement so we’re not strapping it and trying to keep me moving to avoid surgery. Only mention it because I can’t makeup/hair properly…so pls be kind when you see me on TVx
After a really shit day, I’ve started drinking (more), so as per guidelines I’ll be stepping away from the social media now. Happy Halloween and all that. x
I know Three Billboards was amazing blah, blah, blah... but it’s CRIMINAL that

Just had a tyre blowout on the motorway. Absolutely terrifying. Thank goodness for the triple calming voices of my husband,

So.. we’ve all got Covid in our house. My main symptom is back and hip pain, then on/off shivers, and now loss of smell. V lucky that’s all. So grateful I have been reporting on

15 years ago today I was working on Ents team

Well. Had an awful afternoon with a terrible commute, delays, heavy rain, a row, and some bad news. Trudging home, I ordered a coffee

Thank you so much to all of you who sent birthday messages today! I started the day by picking my parents up at Heathrow, unexpectedly crying with happiness, and then did some live light trail broadcasting at Cobtree Manor Park and ended with champagne. A great, happy day. x
Brilliant to have my parents here after 2 years. I was worried it might not happen again. So far…
“That shower is far too fierce.”
“Well you NEED a second pair of oven gloves.”
“I’m freezing.” “I’m too hot.” “I’m dying of hypothermia.”…
It’s bliss. How’s yours?

My parents, who live in Florida, received the Pfizer vaccine and I feel like I’ve just exhaled for the first time in a year. Drive up service at the convention centre, all over in a matter of minutes. Not even a sore arm between them btw.

Bon voyage! That’s me off the tv for the next month as I go stateside! But I will still pop up on
@weathertrending
where I’ll be Travel/Weather and Mummy blogging. Whatever you’re up to this summer have a happy and safe one! x
9.13am. It’s become apparent that nothing has been done or organised. Nothing. A whole house of people looking at, pointing at and blaming each other.
The fault, dear reader, lies with me, because I do absosoddinglutelyeverything in this house.
Lucky to have them.
#MothersDay2022
Already had a “it’s the crazy lady”, “she’s so scary”, “it’s your turn to knock this year” and “I don’t want to have nightmares”. So a big success so far.

Colleagues steeling themselves for some difficult BBC restructuring announcements later this morning. Sending love to all of my friends across BBC Local Radio especially. What we provide is special and beloved.📻💔
To all friends and colleagues in BBC Local Radio, we stand together this evening.

Woo hoo! That was worth setting the alarm for (although I woke up in excitement before it even went off), because the snow is turning to rain now. But so glad to see our first

Making (frozen) lemonade! Missed the work Christmas lunch due to snow, so went for a lovely wfh lunch snow-walk instead (and watched my kids sledding a bit). So gorgeous and refreshing. Happy day!
Absolutely disgraceful Twitter user twisting my words this evening. I despair at the world. I like to think it's pretty clear what kind of person I am: friend to all, unprejudiced, just a touch sarcastic. But hark, a complete stranger trying to drag me into their awful agenda.😞
Made it out of the house en famille! A gentle walk and we’re all tuckered out, but feeling so lucky and grateful to have had a relatively “easy” Covid ride even though we felt dreadful for a while. Thank you so much for all the get-well wishes, they were so appreciated x

tomorrow the weather’s looking great - but what’s that squeal of a weather handbrake-turn on Sunday🥶?? Come find out at 6.30, BBC1. x
Let me tell you, sometimes it’s hard to be in the newsroom watching the output and then have to go on-air and chat weather. Tonight is particularly tough. Barbara 💔.

Honestly, all the judges going on about how odd poached egg and fish is as if Kedgeree isn’t a thing (and about the most delicious and comforting thing in the world to eat).
