1) Ballooning health care costs are not due to providing emergency hospital care for undocumented immigrants 2) Either suggesting that hospitals should refuse emergency care, or refusing reimbursement to hospitals providing emergency care, solves nothing and is unethical

I can understand #MedTwitter often being silent when it comes to politics for a variety of reasons. However, this is a moment where we need to be heard stating two things very clearly (1/2):

CNN on Vance remarks: So first of all, hospitals have been required for decades under a law signed by Republican president Ronald Reagan to treat undocumented immigrants and anyone else who shows up in the E.R. with an acute condition, regardless of their ability to pay,

Here’s a nice analysis of 2.5M children about Tylenol and autism. The study found a small association between tylenol use in pregnancy and autism, but the association went away in sibling analysis. In sibling analysis you compare children born to the same mother where one child

You might think, or hope, that this is a parody account. It is sadly real.

During the pandemic, public health authorities obstructed toddlers’ breathing with cloth masks, gave gene-altering therapeutics to children, conspired with unions keep schools closed, and discredited low-cost medications in favor of expensive and ineffective biologics.

On Friday someone who was convinced by nonsense propaganda like this (FYI every single “stat” he cited is invented gibberish) shot up the CDC. It’s actually hard to comprehend this level of wanton ignorance and cruelty. He is an existential threat to all of us.

Absolutely disgraceful, as are those in the comments celebrating. UCLA is a public institution with no coffers to pull upon to placate the Mad King and his army of goons. Good people who spend their lives dedicated to helping people will needlessly suffer. Shame on everyone.

Clone tracing T cell responses in cancer (using TCR-seq methods) has been incredibly valuable for understanding immunotherapy response and opportunities. A holy grail for us has been thinking about to achieve this for innate immune responses in human cancer - with high accuracy

4-5 million of these excess deaths will be children. USAID is a miniscule fraction of the federal budget. Where is our humanity?
