Happy Transit Driver Appreciation Day to all of the wonderful Bus Operators out there who keep the wheels on the buses going round & round all throughout the world! We appreciate you! To celebrate, here is a behind-the-scenes look at our own celebration for our bus drivers today!
It's finally here... 2/22/22!
Celebrate by showing the Line 2 some love. Line 2 can take you to some fun locations, such as the Santa Barbara Bowl, the Santa Barbara Art Museum, the Eastside Library and more!
Where is your favorite place to take the Line 2?
We will be running an additional Line 14 into Montecito tomorrow night meaning there will be trips leaving the Transit Center at 5:15p, 5:30p and 5:45p. Line 20 is the best route home, using shuttles to pick it up on Coast Village Rd to head back to SB.
An evening candlelit walk from Lower Manning Park to All Saints-by-the-Sea will take place tomorrow, to mark last year’s fateful January 9. The assembly begins at 6pm, and a shuttle system has been developed to avoid parking issues.

So, all that said--we are doing 3 things: 1. developing a better way to inform riders about trip cancellations, 2. working internally to prioritize service as best we can, and 3. recruiting aggressively for new bus operators while keeping current operators safe at work.
On Thursday, January 12, 2023, all service is expected to resume with a normal weekday schedule. Schedules can be found at or by calling the Customer Service line at (805) 963-3366.

When we find out that a portion of service (what we call a run) is not able to be covered by the bus operator who was scheduled, our dispatchers do absolutely everything they can to cover that run or at least as much of it as possible.
SERVICE ALERT: There's lots of flooding and downed trees all over, which means some of our service is disrupted. If you don't absolutely have to travel, don't. Stay safe, stay dry, stay home if you can.
Line 14 to Montecito is now serving Coast Village Rd. It will serve as far as CVR at Olive Mill Rd, then turns around and heads back toward Santa Barbara. Still no service to the Upper Village.
This week, MTD gives thanks to our exceptional Transit Center Customer Service Reps who work tirelessly to keep the information flowing and issues resolved.📄 Thank you for working hard to keep our riders happy and informed. We couldn't do it without you!💙🚌
