Proper tandoori style chicken (made indoors!) last night for dinner with the kids. They love it and it’s got a pretty decent 🌶 kick to it. Took 2 minutes to make and 45 mins to bake. Can’t share recipe yet but it’s on it way!
McYes! My teenage years working in McDonalds were not wasted... learned a lot of life skills including how to make just about every burger they sold! Sausage and egg McMuffins rock and I had to make some today after a horrible start to my morning (plumbing related, don’t ask!)

Watching the Jamie Oliver documentary was such a good reminder why we all fell for Jamie. I learned so much from him, didn’t know what Thai green curry was or pancetta or how easy it was to cook fantastic food. Love him or hate him, he made us brave and he has done a LOT for food

Today marks 13 years on Twitter. In that year (2011) I was made redundant from my job, had a mountain of debt, lost my Grandmother and didnt have a clue what to do with myself. Thankfully I became a Chef (with a LOT of blood/sweat/tears in between) and it worked out for the best!

I work very hard + test recipes religiously, use the most simple + accessible ingredients to ensure you get same result as me. Rarely say anything but the sarcasm + aggression directed towards me at times, really gets to me. No apology when I prove it wasn’t my recipe at fault!

The main way in which lockdown has changed me is that I’m not wasting time sugar-coating responses to anyone anymore. If someone serves me up anything negative, derogatory or spiteful/tasteless, I’ve become absolutely razor sharp and savage in my response. I kind of like this tbh
YES! I have kitchen nightmares all the time so YOU AT HOME, feel better about yourself + your mishaps. And here’s today’s absolute MESS. I spent ALL DAY making a stunning giant 3 tier chocolate fudge cake which collapsed! I did salvage some and it’s now the leaning tower of cake
Homemade bacon and egg naan (a salute to Dishoom) I use tortilla wraps, I mix ‘Geetas’ mango chilli chutney with Tiptree ketchup, fry eggs, grill streaky bacon and pile it into the wrap with spring onion slivers, cream cheese and coriander. So good, quick and easy.

Bolognese. Almost a whole day slow-cooking on the hob. Family favourite and am teaching my eldest step-son to make it himself. We’ve made it a few times together and a few more and I reckon he will gain his confidence to do it by himself and cook for us all
Tell me you’re in Holland without telling me you’re in Holland! HANDS DOWN my favourite Dutch speciality, anyone guess what they are?!?!? - I may have eaten my body weight in these during this trip! 😍
Pet peeve? When people write to you wanting career advice, you give them all you’ve got knowledge-wise, encourage them to work hard etc and they don’t even bother sending a reply, let alone a thank you. Lesson 1... in any industry, be gracious, especially when asking for advice.
Made a giant potato paratha, you know, all casual... and about 3 times as thick as it needed to be. So flipping delicious. I’m a double carbs girl. This will NEVER change.
Too many thoughts and so much sadness watching my industry and decent, hard-working people crumble under the pressure of COVID19. Perhaps silly but reading tweets of chefs, restaurateurs and food suppliers has reduced me to tears in last 48hrs. So surreal and so sad. Heartbroken.
One day, I swear, I’m going to hand ALL my social media over to someone to manage. For the sake of my own sanity, I know it will be the only way forward. Life has enough bullsh*t in it and then we check social media and dial into a load more? I mean, it’s fairly mental tbh.
