We have a real mystery on our hands here. No one in this house seems to know how that @squishmallows got up there. 🤔. Maybe one of you smart people can crack the case. 😑

📘MANUSCRIPT SUBMITTED. I know this is old hat for many of you fancy friends, but I’m pumped. I’ll be groveling at your doorsteps soon enough to give it a read. Brace yourselves. (Bless coauthor @organizedbinder who has had enough of me.).

When the evidence proves transfer, we have to know to ask if it’s near or far transfer (does it generalize or just improve a specific, contextualized skill)…especially if the person sharing the evidence is selling something. This comes up with working memory training often.
Will students get better at BASEBALL if they learn how to play CHESS? In other words: does strategic vision transfer from one field to another?. I found a very pesuasive study. TL;DR: "nope.".

This just in: teachers have cognitive loads too. #opportunitycost.
Mission creep is a problem in schools. Teachers wear too many hats. But try taking something away, and many will fight to keep it. Important convos should be had, between colleagues at school sites, about priorities.
