Hoping to clarify something about my twitter account which is affiliated with AASA. I am on twitter to share reports, stories, information, perspectives that I think are valuable for superintendents to read. My re-tweets are not endorsements unless I specifically say so. Thanks.

The peak of the ed reform movement by policymakers, philanthropists and advocates occurred from 2009-14. Much of that attention has since shifted to career pathways. That holds much promise, but if we keep turning away from the 100,000 public schools, these trends will continue.

Keeping eyes on North Carolina 👀 where a veto override to opt in for the federal scholarship tax credit could be in play today (this week). The NCGA passed legislation to opt in but Governor Josh Stein said no. More to come.

{new} Do teachers make more money when they leave teaching? By and large, they do not. The best way for teachers to make more money is usually to go into administration.

A child's future shouldn't be determined by their zip code. Our school choice scholarship in President Trump's Working Families Tax Cuts bill opens doors for students. We're calling on governors to opt-in and give families that opportunity.

I rewteet a lot of @EDSecMcMahon but this one below made me LOL as this report shows that a majority of Americans oppose closing ED and believe feds have a major role to play in education. Not exactly sure how this tweet is on message.

Despite billions in federal spending and countless well-intentioned programs, the achievement gap between students is widening, not shrinking.   The lesson is clear. Success isn’t about how much money we spend, but who controls the money and where that money is invested.

Lawsuit claiming Wyoming’s private school voucher program is unconstitutional to move forward. You might notice a trend. Legislatures in red states are passing vouchers but judges from those same states are finding huge constitutional problems.
