So if @mboyle1959 has been taking flack for over 15 years about general training on 1 leg or 2 legs. What hope do I have to get team sport programs to do a little less of that and prioritise training efforts to build speed on the field. So we can practice better?

Why is “conditioning” viewed strictly as running? Can’t other means/methods in the weight room, jumping exercises, and general strength circuits (for example) be applied to achieve adaptations? We need to do a better job of coaching education in youth/high school regarding

Let's train S&C coaches to be skilled labourers and not scientists. If we assumed the vocational training pathways we will see the end of this nonsense as you could become an "apprentice coach". But...then who would fill up the water?

2 8cm 3C tears, a tendon nearly off the bone on the same leg….they told me to retire, they told my I wouldn’t sprint again. NO SURGERY….we are back! Moral of the story….BACK YOURSELF! 36 years old 6”4, 103kgs 4.43 30m in trainers at the end of a strength block!

Back in business!!! First club since 2018 but the mission is so different. I got my dream job a long time ago. Don’t need to do it again. Now it’s bigger for me. It’s accessibility to speed development and performance training. Exciting times ahead, club wide!

Loving the 40 yard debates I see at this time of year. Makes me realise the ceiling of preparation is still so low! Making such big changes in short amounts of time is scary. I do with my rugby guys all the time. The solution?? Get better at team sport speed training.
