Because I think the social care visa should be abolished. 100,000 low paid workers, bringing 120,000 dependants, piling up long term welfare costs, so the Treasury can avoid a small pay rise for care workers. It's a scandal.

NEW: Ever wondered why dangerous men like Emad al Swealmeen or Abdul Ezedi were still in Britain and free to offend? I talked to the people who run our borders and spent a day in court to see first hand just how broken the system is. Meet the student who stayed 17 years on a 14…

Two years ago, following the failed Liverpool bombing, @rakibehsan , @samwarmstrong and I dug up stories showing that migrants were using "conversion" to Christianity as a backdoor route to staying in the UK. Lots of strong statements were made. Nothing appears to have been done.

This is happening because the Equality Act has allowed judges to determine that completely different jobs, with completely different demands - and market rates - meet a nebulous definition of 'equal worth', and the Tories are unwilling to correct this absurdity.

Last week Suella Braverman said multiculturalism has failed, and was predictably slated by the left. This week, we're told terrorism in Israel could lead to violence in London. Hard not to draw links between the two.

Immigration to Britain isn't high because it's desperately needed to shore up our ailing economy. It's high because the government has destroyed the ability of universities, care homes, and businesses to function without it - and can't be bothered fixing its mistakes

“Oxford Street disorder: Braverman wants culprits hunted down”. My take: Invest in public swimming pools, well run youth clubs, community centres, mental health programmes, summer activities. Care for youth. Cost of inaction greater than cost of action.

It's a familiar pattern. "Multiculturalism doesn't mean you have to change, you just have to accept others" rapidly becomes "society must be fundamentally reshaped to manage the conflicts it introduces". But if at any point you suggest diversity brings costs, you're shouted down.

A social contract where British people pay taxes to subsidise housing low income immigrants in London is not a sustainable one. A smarter system would treat low-skilled foreign labour more like guest workers than potential citizens:
