Posting this on the bulletin board:. NHC operations are not associated with the NOAA seasonal forecast. "Padding the stats" or "naming everything" is simply in your head. After 20-some years doing this in Florida. I can tell you they really don't give a damn.

Keep in mind there are men & women - professional aviators & scientists - buckled into bouncing planes. flying in and out of #Dorian for sake of a better forecast. It's part of the reason there's a Cat. 5 hurricane some 150 mi east of PBI and we're not totally losing our minds.

"Why aren't you showing the computer models?". Answer: there's no valuable take away at this time. Deterministic models are way out of bounds. Ensemble modeling is a snapshot of possibility. Until there's a low-level circulation to serve as a focal point, it's a waste ofâ˛ď¸.

Saturday marked my 15th year at @nbc6. Ideally, I'd mark the occasion with pictures of all my wonderful co-workers, past and present. But amidst a pandemic, it's not the right time. Grateful to my co-workers who make great TV happen each day. I'm humbled to remain part of it.

There is no doubt in my mind we are taking players off the floor that need to be in every game for @NWS/@NOAA. The gentleman below has a stellar mind, a runway full of accomplishments/contributions - not to mention an outstanding #WxTwitter voice. This is upsetting, frustrating.
Unfortunately I can confirm the rumors going around today since I received "the email". I don't want to make any comments other than I am exploring legal options in a couple of avenues. I will probably be deactivating this account for a variety of reasons soon. I always advocate.

Tip on any hurricane supplies: no matter what you see available online at big box stores, donât try to online order it. They will not fulfill the order, but at the same time, not inform you they arenât filling it for 24-48 hrs. Go to the store. This has happened â16 â17 & â19.
