You can and should decide to take the attack on Israel and the Jewish people personally. Not just because we know people impacted but because Hamas is attacking humanity. Pro-Israel today is simply pro-civilization. #StandWithIsrael.
Brief update: I am in Israel with my family. Our return flight was cancelled. Along with the citizens of Israel, we remain resolute and will not cower to terrorists who murder, kidnap and rape seniors, women & children. While I would like to return home, we are not running away.

Polling at 52% with particular wording likely means there is no path. No way in-state money participates in a "NO" campaign, but with control of Congress at stake there will be opposition. Those same donors also help elect Democrats in contested Congressional primaries.
New: CALeg’s Democratic leaders appear ready to follow Gov. Newsom’s Congressional redistricting push. They were briefed on plans and polling last night, showing 52% of voters could approve if the ballot measure is written a certain way… .

I just used Gemini and Deep Research to generate a great overview of a cities municipal finances. I was shocked at how good it was. I have a tool to create the right prompts that makes me irrationally confident that I can learn anything very quickly.

I haven't spent 5 minutes thinking about regulation of digital assets, but Senator Scott is really good at his job. He pays attention to both the details of policy and what it takes to get it enacted. So I pay more attention to what he is doing. Left or right, we need more.
My colleagues in the House and Senate and I share the same goal: provide clear rules of the road for digital assets. With a bipartisan, bicameral approach, we are ensuring that the United States is positioned as the global leader in digital asset innovation.

Might not be obvious but this thread is an application of my tweet.
Self-interest is a reliable guide to understanding the decisions people make. The hard part is understanding how another actor perceives their self-interest. When dealing with politicians it is far more complicated than "re-election".

Great point and good conversation in the replies.
Things start to make more sense when you realize that huge asset managers (Blackstone et al) have perfected capital raising to the point that they can’t possibly operate their own deals with all that money, are now really just allocators (FOF), w/two layers of fees in most cases.

I welcome the stronger response to a common enemy Russia. The response is in part because the US is less committed to Europe and that is sad. Too many Americans died to make and keep her free.
Merz: German army is not strong enough. So we’re spending more than ever since the Cold War. We changed our constitution. The big threat is Russia. Q: Is there a wider threat of Russia?. Merz: Yes, far beyond Ukraine. 1/
