One of Trumpβs cleverest insights is to play on the narcissism of media figures. They want to be part of the universe Trump is selling. They want to be associated with it, profit off of it, be in the story. Even when they pretend to critique him, theyβre just perpetuating it.
"For the president, this is something that hits home, because he is a visual person and the visuals of him driving to his golf course and seeing those homeless encampments" -- Politico's Dasha Burns puts on a masterclass in Trump sanewashing on Fox News

The thing about that arc is you gotta keep leaning on it.
Obergefell v. Hodges made me believe in the whole "arc of history bends towards justice." In the 90s, I didn't think gay marriage would be legalized in my lifetime bc homophobia was so rampant. We would have never gotten here without the decision and now it may be overturned.

They always want to claim things they like and put them through the funhouse mirror. The Boys is not a critique of right wing fascism but a power fantasy of might making right. South Park is secretly on their side. When they took over the Kennedy Center, I felt certain we would.
The worst part of the Trump-era is suburban boomers viewing themselves as some kind of cultural critics, as a Pitchfork writer would. Desperate to be in the media class. Thereβs a reason most of the Daily Wire is failed Hollywood screenwriters, actors, bloggers, or directors.

Blah blah blah blah. What are we supposed to do, Dan? Seriously? At this point, what the heck are we supposed to do?. Trump is burning the village and salting the ground and pundits think it would be impolite for us to even try to get out of the house.
I just could not disagree with this more. We improve nothing by engaging in this gerrymandering arms race. The Democratic Party will lose any of its credibility on defending democracy by going down this path. Itβs like saying theyβre βforcedβ to do their own Jan. 6. Hard no.

Youβd better give that president huge majorities because they need to. 1. Limit federal land and essentially establish DC as a separate state.2. Probably have to repeal the 23rd Amendment.3. Reform Trumpβs Supreme Court who will almost certainly strike down statehood.

For me Grok art is the equivalent of Precious Moments figurines, where youβre sort of like βwho is this for?β, and itβs basically all the same thing only dressed up in different outfits for mass production. See also: Labubus.

I find the fixation on claiming the moral high road on voting among some on the Left pretty fascinating. They sense blood in the water to take over the party, but also realize the mainstream party blames them for not showing up/working against Dems, so they try to gaslight us.
98% of progressives voted for Harris. Meanwhile Jeffries, Gillibrand, Booker, Hochul, and other centrist Democrats refuse to support the Democratic candidate for NY Mayor because of purity politics. Your entire argument is baloney.
