Interesting to see a Dem repeat the MAGA-made-up $72B number. That “fraud” supposedly includes the $17B spent on high-speed rail — which has created 16,000 union jobs and built 50+ COMPLETED projects. Calling union work “fraud” is certainly a choice.
One place you and I probably agree @chamath & @Jason @friedberg is the $72 billion fraud in Sacramento is outrageous and appalling. There needs to be full accountability for the waste and new leadership in Sacramento. Taxpayers are owed an accounting of where every penny of their

Fiorello LaGuardia, famously considered one of New York’s best mayors in history, spoke multiple languages and was known for using them on the campaign trail. It’s absurd for anyone to attack a politician for taking the time to speak with his constituents in their language.

CNBC did an excellent report on Medicaid and Medicare fraud in a similar manner but with better sourcing than Nick Shirley 2 years ago, and it never went viral because it didn't have an anti-immigrant angle to it and the fraud was in a red state

The United States taxes a lot less, and spends a lot less, than almost every other rich country. We also spend the least on social programs for families, and as a result have the highest child poverty rate of any wealthy country

CNN covered it first in 2022, then again on October 4, 2025. NYT covered it first on November 29. WaPo covered it first in 2022, then again on December 19, 2025. Minneapolis Star-Tribune has been covering it continuously since the story first broke in 2022. Took me 5 minutes.
Still no coverage in NYT, WaPo, CNN, or Minneapolis Star-Tribune of massive fraud being uncovered in Minnesota. The media's willingness to ignore stories that hurt Democrats is truly astonishing.

We’ve spent years cracking down on fraud - referring cases to law enforcement, shutting down and auditing high-risk programs. Trump keeps letting fraudsters out of prison. To the national news just now paying attention, here’s what we’ve done to stop it.

For all those claiming zero stories on MN fraud by media, Star Tribune alone has written 300+ stories in the last four years.
For more than a decade, Minnesota has grappled with a fraud crisis in its Medicaid programs. In the last four years alone, the Star Tribune has written nearly 300 stories on the massive scandal and broken major developments. Here’s a guide to our coverage.

If you're a Democrat, bipartisanship is not only expected, but demanded. If you're a Republican and engage in bipartisanship, your own party leadership basically disowns you and yet the media blames both sides when things don't get done.
Nine Republican Montana state senators voted with 18 Democrats to form a new majority to pass major legislation last session, undermining the influence of the ultra-conservative caucus of the state’s GOP. Dubbed “The Nasty Nine,” the Republican senators were censured by their
