Apples capex runs at $12bn. A year. Whereโs the $600bn coming from if itโs got $109bn cash and โonlyโ $335bn total assets?.
NEW: Today the WH is expected to announce that Apple will increase its US commitment to $600B over the next 4 years -- including a new $100B pledge . A White House official tells me todayโs announcement "includes an ambitious new American Manufacturing Program (AMP) dedicated to.

โNo country for young people.โ. Economic & social policy choice to have lowest home ownership in young adults, least housing stock in EU -15 means exporting cows is more important than keeping young adults in communities. Which results in less children. 30% less a a decade.
5/5 Ireland will face increased demands for healthcare and pensions. The Governmentโs recently established savings funds will help address these costs. But the funds alone will not be enough. So, the government will need to raise additional revenue or reallocate existing spending

Can the far cleverer economists explain why we donโt use Opportunity zones (US policy) and tax credits (EU policy) for stimulating growth (in regions in particular)? @JimPowerEcon @Keyes @GerardBrady100 . โฌ200k tax credit to live / work / stay / move here. 7 years. Post T-rump.

With the National planning framework / Ireland 2040 reducing housing supply to rural for 2018 to 2025, and again, the new NPF reducing housing & infrastructure supply in rural to be 300% less per person than cities, OECD / EU at least show rural decline can be averted. Not IRL.
๐กMuch has been made of the decline of rural areas. Yet many are finding their footing again by seizing new opportunities arising from the #green and #digital transitions. How can policy makers help them ride the wave and reinforce resilience?. Blog๐

As with many of Trumpโs proposals, itโs unclear how serious he is about his vague call for further U.S. involvement in Gaza food aid.

JFC. If this was your city, your town, your parish?. Why is it allowed by such weakness in positions of power?. Oh. Lobbyists. Gas contracts. Construction contracts. Those are more important things than well, genocide. โThoughts and prayersโ mean zero to children wiped out.

Great insight from coalface @killianwoods. In a housing crisis, it shouldnโt be taking 3 years to get to contract, nevermind build. Well done to Ingka / Aurium team for having immense patience to overcome so, so many blockers. Prove small minds wrong.

The answer is NOT more gardai or camโs. The answer is more vibrancy and community housing; more people, more ownership. In 6 Dublin eircodes there wasnโt a single first buyer of a new home in 12 months. Itโs full Tory to focus on policing. Make Streets vibrant. Crime falls.
The Indian embassy has had to issue a warning to its citizens because of the surge in racist attacks in Dublin. Horrific

Yep. Imagine all the land the state, semi-state and church has. But doesnโt build. As the state chooses the supply. Low. The state chooses the finance supply. Very low. The state makes it costly. But it does allow homes to high supply rates in wealthy land districts.
Weirdly, many people think that builders choose how many homes to build, and so we need to look at the construction industry and its concentration/competition to understand housing production. Nope. Landowners choose. Only landowners. No one builds homes without land.

2. It wasn't focus but @spunout's excellent research, using data/facts, that asked young people. 88% want to emigrate due to Housing. The 12% rest must living / buying in DLR/Greystones/Naas/Blackrock. The so what; policy makers don't ask young for their input. Instead, it's.
