There has been a 48% increase in new build social homes in first 9 months of this year. 26k homes in design or construction NB. Full picture won’t emerge until year-end as delivery usually accelerates in final quarter.

Today I have announced an extension to the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) funding programme w/ @SimonHarrisTD - an additional €600 million investment - including €200m from our banks. This is aimed at unlocking equity for small and medium developers and builders.

The Vacant Property Refurbishment grant is delivering new homes in towns across Ireland. That's why today Minister @JamesBrowneTD announced the extension of it out until 2030, as well as a new Above the Shop Grant to revitalise towns that need it most.

The new housing plan, due to be launched on Thursday, seeks to end the 'blanket ban’ on pets in tenancy agreements. It is understood Housing Minister James Browne has strong views on the issue and insisted on the provision being included in the document.
