When I coached at OSU, during Civil War Week, the statue was guarded 24/7 by student volunteers. And coaches and Beaver players stopped by intermittently to bring them food, and talk with them. @coachshields @BeaverFootball @kerryeggers @BeaverAD @BeaverSports @SkipperBK13

Nobody feels worse about the circumstances that resulted in this position, but he was called on to do a job, and I promise you, he will give the Beavers everything he’s got. Our players at WSU loved him as a person, and played like “their hair was on fire” on the field.

With early reports that Trent Bray has been fired, I want to remind Beaver Nation that he was handed an impossible job at an impossible time. He stepped up when others stepped out. I am grateful for the man that had the courage not to run, Thank you Coach Bray!
