Just observed Aidan O’Brien walking out of the racecourse to the car park at Ascot. Could hardly take a step without a request for a photo or autograph. Did every single one and all with a smile, looking almost embarrassed with all the fuss.
My entire time being involved in racing, female riders even competing in the National has been a ‘thing’. Rachael Blackmore has finally put an end to that today. Privilege to be Aintree today.
The actions of Gordon Elliott and Rob James are palpably abhorrent and have been rightly condemned. But surely as compassionate beings we should now be asking what is in our power to make things better & does that not include helping the offenders learn from their mistakes?
Ronnie O’Sullivan is incredible. The best snooker player in the world at the age of 48. As good a sports star as there is and maybe as there has ever been.
Don’t wish to generalise but today’s animal rights protesters don’t appear to actually care about animals and certainly know zero about caring for horses obviously. On a brighter note, well done to all concerned with Corach Rambler!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who tuned in to watch the recent
#INDvENG
Test series. It was a privilege to host the coverage on
@Channel4
and a joy to work with the team
@sunsetandvine
- maybe we can do it again one day....
To say I am very excited about being part of this is an understatement. But I also recognise it is a privilege. See you on Friday at 3.45am on

🏏 Howzat! We’re thrilled to announce the return of Test cricket to
@Channel4
with live coverage of the four match Test series between
@BCCI
&
@englandcricket
! 🏏
Thanks very much to the teams
@RacingTV
&
@itvracing
for 5 great days
@Goodwood_Races
- terrific spirit during a challenging week weather wise. I enjoyed being there.
One of the most memorable Derby meetings ever for me. Snowfall in the Oaks, Pyledriver and Martin Dwyer in the C Cup, Corazon Espinado for Simon Dow, the old boy Oh This Is Us and Adam Kirby on Adayar. Racing had a great couple of days and it was a joy and privilege to be there.
Some people loved it, some people liked it, some didn’t care for it, but after five days of Royal
@Ascot
just wanted to say thank you to the team behind the scenes
@itvracing
who worked incredibly hard to bring you coverage of one of the best sporting events in the world.
Thank you to everyone who has sent a message to say that they have enjoyed the return of Test cricket to
@Channel4
it is massively appreciated and I hope that your enjoyment continues tomorrow - back on air at the same time for Joe Root to resume his innings.
Genuinely moved and somewhat overwhelmed by the lovely messages of support and congratulations - thank you all very much. I hope the next few weeks will be fun for everyone, especially those tuning in to
@channel4
for
#INDvsENG
A big thank you to the superb
@TVG
@FanDuelTV
team for being such great hosts during
@BreedersCup
week. Loved
@keeneland
& all things Kentucky especially the Bourbon, plus a host of unforgettable racing memories from the past 2 days.
Right now, sport fans around the world are lucky to have legends of their respective fields to enjoy - Woods, Federer, Nadal, Messi, Ronaldo - and for what it’s worth, I would definitely add Dettori to that list.
Ronnie O’Sullivan - the best snooker player of all time and one of the best British sportsman of all time. And he can hug his defeated opponent longer than anyone else I’ve ever seen.
Interesting to hear Barry Hearn preparing to take civil action against the protester who threw orange powder over the table at the World Snooker Championship…..
Back home after a summer of sport that ended with
@Tokyo2020
- It’s been such a privilege to have been at so many memorable sporting events. And thank you for all the lovely messages over the past two months. They are all hugely appreciated.
Hope those of you watching

are enjoying it. Just wanted to give you a heads up to look out for a blast from the past joining us at tea...
Jenny McCririck: 'John put on a pantomime act. We all know that. He made a living out of it and people liked it, but deep down he was a very private person and he cared about people'
Obviously there was lots of noise around the Cheltenham Festival, some good some bad, but the horses never let us down. It was a privilege to be there for
@itvracing
to see the Gold Cup champ defend his crown, plus the arrival of a fair few stars of the future
#horsesaretheheroes
Very excited about being back at the races for the first time since June and being part of the
@itvracing
team again. All my friends on the team are really excited to see me too.
An incredible year of sport already - Tiger Roll, Tiger Woods, the two comebacks in the Champs League semis, Djokovic & Fed today and that final at Lords. Maybe something special at Portrush next week...
One of the best things about being lucky enough to be working
@yorkracecourse
with
@itvracing
is breakfast at Robinson’s on Bishopthorpe Road. Magnificent.
Thank you for the messages of support for my interview with
@joshapiafi
which understandably has also provoked negative & unkind responses as well. To those people I say you have no right to tell me how I should feel about my own experiences. And indeed...1/2
Thank you for all the lovely messages during the past two weeks
@Wimbledon
it was a pleasure and a huge privilege to be back there for
@BBCSport
this year. Now to enjoy the football - bring it home Gareth.
What a thrill it was to watch Desert Crown win a 6th Derby for Sir Michael Stoute. A joy to work with the
@itvracing
team and thank you very much for the kind words expressed about the tribute to Lester Piggott. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
First experience of
@KelsoRacecourse
today and it was terrific - a charming racecourse and friendly people. Recommend a visit if you’ve not been. Special mention of Jane Miller for her Grade 1 quality sultana cake. Moist, light and moreish. Kelso ❤️
Here is something to be proud of in racing - there are good people ready to provide help and support when it’s needed the most. Hopefully this is at least some comfort for Graham and his family in the toughest of times.
Incredibly lucky to get the chance to speak to an emotional Sir Mark Prescott just after Alpinista’s Arc win. Huge amount of warmth and appreciation for all involved with the great grey mare. A privilege to be at Longchamp today.
🗣 'I'm lucky, lucky to get a good one at this time in my career.'
The crowning glory on an incredible career for Sir Mark Prescott 👑

at 3.40 am tomorrow for the start of the 2nd test between
#INDvsENG_2021
-
@ejrainfordbrent
and Sir Andrew Strauss will be in the studio to set the scene for the day’s play.
Incredible men’s final. Alcaraz is tremendous and a future great, but Djokovic’s post match interview was evidence that he has a touch of class - racket smashing aside - and he remains a champion.
Thank you to
@BarstewardsThe
for having me on their pod. I obviously don’t have all the answers but enjoyed the unadulterated passionate racing chat with three guys who genuinely care deeply about the sport.
Thank you so much to all of my talented colleagues on
@TVG
both in front and behind the camera and the
@BreedersCup
team for their extremely kind hospitality over the past week
@DelMarRacing
- I’m a little sad it’s all over, but I will enjoy reflecting on some incredible racing.
I know it’s Grand National day but I love the little 12-year-old speedster Duke Of Firenze who has just won for the 12th time, at Lingfield, on his 108th start.

I would ask you to examine the experiences that you have had that now shape the prejudices and feelings you bring to the discussion. Perhaps if we can start to understand ourselves better, we can then appreciate others with more compassion.
Super week
@Ascot
and a pleasure to work with a terrific
@itvracing
team. Nature Strip, Baeed, Inspiral, Moore, O’Brien, Tudhope, Buick, McDonald and Jane Chapple-Hyam just some of the stars for me. Hope you enjoyed watching.
Absolutely brilliant race. Hats off to Enable, a champion in every respect and Crystal Ocean has hopefully ended any debate as to whether he deserves to be mentioned in the highest echelons.
Looking forward to the start of the 3rd Test tomorrow morning. Sir Andrew Strauss and Sir Alistair Cook will be in the studio. Hope you can join us at 8.30 am on
@Channel4
#INDvENG
- might be a day/night belter..
Well done to Cam Smith. He was incredible, but I’d say the love for Rory grows deeper. He is a class act on and off the course and in victory and defeat. Thank you St Andrews for a great week.
Two 147s, the greatest Crucible comeback, the emergence of a young star and a little orange powder. My time at this years World Snooker Champs is over and what a privilege it has been. The Queen of the Crucible, Hazel Irvine, will see it through to the end. Tk u
@BBCSnooker
Coming to the end of day 2 at Royal Ascot and wanted to salute Sir Michael Stoute. As a kid I was not ashamed to say, the sight of W R Swinburn & M R Stoute next to a runner on a racecard was all the form I needed. Privileged to see the Bajan Knight’s Royal Ascot record today.
Lots of great performances at Ascot this week, but Frankie Dettori remains the main man. Find it incredible to think he will turn 50 this year.

A very enjoyable breakfast this morning in the company of Michael ‘Muis’ Roberts, recalling the likes of Mtoto, Indian Skimmer and Sabrehill. He trains the favourite for the WSB Cape Town Met - See It Again.
