I was able to stop the bike on time. Unfortunately I kept going. She “didn’t see me”. No excuse for not seeing me.

This is classic. Cyclists, who are already limited to speeds far lower than motorists, must ride even slower to accommodate their shit driving.🤦♂️.
@righttobikeit There will always be drivers, pedestrians and even (shock!) cyclists who make mistakes. Anticipating potential mistakes is an essential skill. In this case the cyclist should be going a lot slower anticipating that the driver might make a mistake.

You need to slow down, it’s not a race track, that’s the trouble you think that tearing along as fast you can is acceptable without any regard for anything or anyone else. These cycle lanes are the worst idea ever.

@righttobikeit If the cyclist continues to cycle in this way the cyclist will end up splattered on the road. The speed is too fast for the road conditions, giving the cyclist inadequate time to react to a driver’s mistake. In this case both driver and cyclist are wrong.
