En las periferias y en el Noreste del país, la situación es muy distinta. Proliferan denuncias por falta de acceso a lugares de votación en zonas lulistas y por operativos de policías y militares que inhiben el voto 📸@danielapastrana

Chopping down B.C. old growth is bad enough. Chopping for wood pellets is unforgivable. Wood pellet energy is more polluting than coal. Drax is turning our natural carbon sinks into carbon bombs. And the profits aren’t even staying in Canada. https://t.co/R0nJW0OIiS

In their annual report, Drax laments growing protections for old growth, going as far as to identify logging deferrals as a major “risk” for business. Tell me, if most your pellets are sourced from sawmill waste, why are deferrals such a concern?

Do you believe throwing soup at some glass is a greater crime than the death of the living planet? Do you, from your comfortable distance, say "I support their cause, but not their methods"? If so, please read what Martin Luther King had to say about such mindsets. #JustStopOil

The paper also finds that the energy consumed by the super-rich global 1% alone is enough to provide decent living standards for 1.7 billion people - equivalent to the entire population of Africa in 2050. Inequality is not only ecologically dangerous, it is morally outrageous.
