It means the Democrats are much further from their extreme wing than the Republicans are. The Republicans right now are exactly what their hardest-right crazies want in office. The Democrats are just stable, professional moderates who want to do their jobs well.

Conservatives sometimes try to tell me that the Democrats are just as extreme as the Republicans, in the other direction. But the far right is the GOP's most die-hard voting bloc, and the far left are constantly working AGAINST the Democrats. I think that means something.

As much as I hate to admit it, this guy is right. Europe does need to band together and figure out what the world looks like for them with a fractured, isolationist United States. It's not how I want things to work, but apparently, I'm not making the decisions.

I genuinely wonder what percentage of Trump voters would feel regret if he really pulled off the worst-case scenario and ended our democracy somehow to serve his own self-interest. Would people come to their senses? Or just rationalize deeper? "At least it's our guy," etc?

We're coming into this election in the zone where there are only bad outcomes. Either Trump gets an electoral college win (which is really bad), or he narrowly loses, which means he accuses everyone of cheating and mobilizes the worst people in the country.
