planned parenthood is not just abortions btw. They provide cancer screenings, wellness checkups, std/sti testing and treatment, birth control, pregnancy tests abortion services, as well as access to prenatal care, AND post partum care.

The National Archives at College Park is about to go dark; effective July 7, it’s becoming a restricted-access federal facility, meaning everyday Americans will no longer have public access to the very records that hold our government accountable. This is where the receipts

The Library of Congress gets a copy of every book published in the United States, print or digital. It's part of how Copyright is established. It is a RESEARCH library, not one where kids go to check out books.

ICYMI: Trump has released his 2026 budget that include cuts for: NSF: -56% NIH: -40% EPA: -55% CDC: -33% NASA: -24% Make no mistake - this is not just trimming the budget. These cuts are a direct attack on U.S. research, innovation, and public health.

Yes it's absolutely true - the human race survived hundreds of thousands of years without vaccines. They just died at 40 and half the babies never saw their first birthdays but hey, those were the good old days

"There are no Amish with autism" There are "Vaccines aren't tested against placebo" They are "MMR has never been studied as a possible cause of autism" It has. It's not the cause. I apparently need to say this stuff over and over and over and over again. And again.

Today I joined a powerful cancer advocacy event and spoke as a scientist but was struck by this: the invisible toll federal cuts are having on patients is enormous. From halted trials and research funds, the human & emotional impact is devastating and deserves more attention.

The return of vaccine-preventable diseases is a devastating failure - especially in a country that has spent decades developing the science to eliminate them.

Wow. The Trump administration’s proposed FY2026 budget calls for a 1/3 cut to HHS and a 40% cut to NIH - with an unprecedented reduction in funding from $47B to $27B and collapsing 27 institutes into 8. More below.

The research NIH supports is often years - decades -ahead of commercial interest. It’s the foundational science Big Pharma won’t fund because it doesn’t deliver short-term profits.

There’s an enormous amount of disinformation flying around about NIH right now, so let’s clear a few things up. The NIH is not Big Pharma. It doesn’t make drugs, it doesn’t set public health agendas, and it doesn’t profit from your illness.

Many people do not have their birth certificate on hand, and millions do not have a passport. Already marginalized groups are esp likely to be affected. It also would impact married women whose names no longer match their birth certificates (or anyone else w legal name change)

The name is misleading. This bill supposedly intends to keep non-citizens from voting (which is already the law) by requiring documentation of citizenship that many don't have on hand. This is voter suppression that will impact millions of people.

No. Stop pathologizing benign behavior, stop shaming things that are objectively good. You grew up reading because you enjoyed it, because it gave you pleasure. Your life was enriched in every way by the books that you read.
