Did you know that routine vaccines help the immune system recognize and resist viruses? When everyone is up to date on vaccinations it reduces the spread of illnesses that affect all children. https://t.co/BsiXxCePgq #HealthierTogetherAAP

Great piece by @lkirchner for @ConsumerReports with insights from @AmerAcadPeds and @RachelMoonMD. Weighted sleep products for babies—blankets, sleep sacks, & swaddles—are being sold with no safety standards in place and little to no evidence they’re safe.

The use of weighted sleep sacks/swaddles poses a potentially fatal risk for infants by raising the SIDS risk. AAP urges parents not use them and @USCPSC to increase oversight on all weighted sleep products marketed to children to prevent tragedy. @nbcnews:

Cover of current issue of OB/Gyn journal shows what NOT to do. Pillows and stuffed animals in a crib = unsafe environment for infant sleep. Each year, 3,500 US infants die, most involve an unsafe sleep environment like this. @MDEdgeObGyn
