Even as severe weather hits communities countrywide, the Trump Admin makes us vulnerable to natural disasters by understaffing the National Weather Service. Preparing for severe weather saves money & lives. Undermining it is stupid & cruel.

As Netanyahu visits this week, there’s clearly an opportunity for progress—a moment to move toward peace—made possible by historic advances against Iran’s toxic ambitions & assets, & its terrorist proxies. The world is watching.

As heartbreakingly tragic flooding strikes Texas, & FEMA relief efforts begin, the agency again is showing its mettle & worth. It should be supported as it does this vital work.

As Putin intensifies his aerial reign of terror, Trump must seize the moment to show that America will not be mocked by his murderous double talk. Send weapons—indeed double down. Approve our bone crushing Russia Sanctions bill—hopefully w/a Senate vote.

Far from surrendering, I’m determined to fight—in the Senate, at rallies & town halls, in the streets & in elections. This Big Blatant Betrayal is Trump’s show today but it’s on Republicans. We’ll hold them accountable & reverse these seismic harms. They’re cruel & they’re stupid.

For what? Trillions in tax cuts that mainly benefit the rich—inflicting the biggest transfer of wealth from poor to rich in American history & ballooning the nation’s debt by roughly $5 trillion.

I’m thinking of kids who’ll go to bed hungry, their stomachs growling, because nutrition assistance is nuked—& of students losing financial support, vets seeking care & benefits, & so many others seeing America’s social safety net shredded. Rollbacks in rights on an unseen scale.

As Trump signs his Big Blatant Betrayal, I’m thinking of the kid who breaks their arm at the playground, the mom who finds a lump in her breast, the senior in a nursing home—& more than 17M Americans—who’ll be “beautifully” booted off health insurance & deprived of health care.

Happy Independence Day! Amidst the July 4th fun—w/family, food & fireworks—let’s celebrate our freedoms & the heroes who’ve fought & continue to serve. Not only our military & vets, but also our first responders. We’re the land of the free, because we’re the home of the brave.

Remember: Only sparklers & fountain devices are legal. Use any fireworks with great caution. Don’t mix fireworks with alcohol—a recipe for disaster. Keep them away from children.

A uniquely American holiday—July 4th, our Independence Day—is all about family, fun, food, &, yes, fireworks. Sadly, every year, too many in CT suffer serious burns & other injuries because of firework carelessness. Holiday joy may turn to tragedy in an instant.

This cruel misstep contradicts President Trump’s recent NATO commitment of support—a mixed message emboldening Putin to continue his bloody attacks & atrocities & rejecting serious peace talks. We must stand with Ukraine.

Proud to lead 17 Members of Congress demanding Sec. Hegseth reverse his dangerous decision to freeze munitions & arms shipments to Ukraine. This is precisely the wrong moment to curtail our aid. We must meet Putin’s brutal assault with the arms Ukraine needs to defend itself.

Putin needs to hear that America is committed to continuing arms aid to Ukraine—& that recent freeze reports are false. After the President’s reaffirmation of Ukrainian support at NATO, mixed messaging would only embolden Putin to evade peace talks & continue bloody attacks.

Progress we’ve made against opioid abuse disorder, with overdose deaths down the past three years, will be decimated by draconian Medicaid cuts in the Big, Blatant Betrayal Bill. Literally, Medicaid has been a lifeline to treatment success.

Listening to constituents, as I’ve done, the House should say NO to Trump’s Big Blatant Betrayal. It hurts millions—slashing health care, food assistance, & much more, all to give tax breaks to billionaires. Senate Republicans made the House’s bad bill even worse. Reject it.

This Hegseth step is a betrayal—of Ukrainian lives, of our national security, of Trump’s own recent support. I will work with colleagues on both sides of the aisle in seeking to reject & reverse these mean-spirited, misguided DOD missteps. 5.

The solution is not to withhold munitions or weapons—endangering our own national security & Ukraine’s freedom fight. It is to produce more of them, as I have urged repeatedly over many years. 4/.
