Dutton has the worldview of a Queensland cop, someone once wrote. We should take that seriously via @crikey_news

Peter Dutton wasn’t party to any of this debauchery of Queensland Police under the reign of Joh Bjelke-Petersen. But he's every inch a product of the culture and politics of the time.

A @guardian investigation finds over 3,000 imports into Australia were from companies blacklisted over Uyghur forced labor, the first assessment of the large and growing scale of Xinjiang-linked imports into the country. Nations that fail to act become complicit.

Tasmania’s waters are being destroyed by toxic salmon farming, yet Peter Dutton wants laws to protect this destructive industry. Tasmanians are demanding action to save marine life, not sell it out to foreign-owned giants like JBS. #politas

Went with @JosephineCrow16 to North Sydney Oval for the Au-Eng women's ODI today. For its age and shortcomings, it's a lovely oval. And the women attract a friendly, happy fan base; with an emphatic Au win, it was a great day!

Excellent article by @iainthomson for @TheRegister on national treasure @marcwrogers’ luminous career with a commentary on why his broken neck needs a crowdsourced fundraiser in the richest country in the world to aid his recovery.

I'm stingy with "benefit of the doubt" and disinclined to think well of Dreyfus, but ... do you really think what landed in the SMH represents what will really be on his agenda in Israel?

Put the dead into your poems without garbing them in your grief. Give them cake, put on their favorite music. Listen to their gossip. Let them tell you how they've learned to bake bread. To carve clarinet reeds. Let them comb your hair. Help them remember the color orange.

This is a real shame, that Melissa has stepped aside 'for the Labor Party' over pro Palestine comments.
