Resentencing must take place, the suffering has to end, let it be now.
Well done to Jimmy’s family in getting this raised and receiving a direct answer from the PM and a massive thank you to @annalouisedixon MP for highlighting the ongoing struggle and fight of the IPP sentence. Only an appropriate resentencing process will end this trauma.

Leaseholders are being ripped off by managing agents who levy huge charges but provide poor service. It’s got to stop. I’m one of 34 Labour MPs who have written today to the country’s largest managing agent, FirstPort, to demand they come to Parliament to explain themselves.

Scafell Pike, Peak 2, Day 2 ✔️ Absolutely loved this climb - pretty good conditions today, tad windy & poor visibility at the summit. Please, if poss, donate to Big Breakfast Plus - local charity providing breakfast to those in need. https://t.co/aanmrwWOHR

Good luck everyone receiving exam results today but remember your results do not define you. My son didn’t get the results he wanted 2 years ago - he was absolutely gutted but 12 months on he resat & got 3 A’s. He’s now just finished his 1st yr studying Chemistry.
To everyone receiving their results in #swindon today 🎓✨ Well Done! Something I wish I had been told and that I share with all my patients, is to remember that results don’t define you! If things didn’t go as planned, don’t be discouraged. There are still plenty of

All of us who work in criminal justice are acutely aware it’s at breaking point due to years of £cuts & inept policy-making: a whole system approach to fix it is needed. I know @Heidi_Labour @ShabanaMahmood & team will take this challenge on head first & make a real difference.

Couldn’t agree more with @JamesTCobbler - the prison system is broken, it is ineffective in rehabilitating individuals and for many being incarcerated causes more harm. The evidence is loud and clear - community sentences are far more effective in reducing reoffending.
Watch this it’s fascinating - I asked James Timpson what he’d do about prisons and sentencing if he was in charge. He believes only a third of prisoners in jail should definitely be there. He’s now in charge of prisons (but not sentencing).

Today I’m voting for @Heidi_Labour because I want my young adult children to have a brighter future, to have hope and opportunity. It’s only a #Labour Government who can provide this. Vote Labour today, vote for change #generalection2024.

Always inspiring catching up with my local’ish’ #restorativejustice colleagues. Discussions included the need to reestablish the @RJAPPG post general election and drive forward delivery of RJ & restorative practices at every stage of the criminal justice system.
A pleasure to spend the day with @ResolveWest in Bristol for our latest regional #RestorativeJustice get together. Always a great conversation with a great group of people!
