Absolutely. Why not just vote once with a single transferrable vote ranking all the candidates? Much quicker, delivers broadly the same logical structure and eliminates the opportunity for tactical shenanigans.
However innocent Team Johnson might be in arranging tactical voting, one thing is for sure. Those brilliant (?) people in the Tory party have devised an electoral system for leader which can allow the front runner to fix the second place. A bit dumb and (err) shortsighted!

December. Time to get @NigelSlater's wonderful Christmas Chronicles out again. The pork and partridge pie went down a treat this weekend. Also made Christmas puds and had to try one (just to check all ok, obvs!) - 89 year old Mum says the best she's ever tasted. High praise!
