Master Sonita Alleyne OBE: "We look forward to welcoming representatives from Nigeria and Benin to the handover ceremony and to celebrating the return of this Bronze.
This is the right thing to do out of respect for the unique heritage and history of this artefact."

"We are all thrilled at seeing this day arrive, when the Bronze is finally returning home, but we are also painfully aware of having deprived its rightful owners for so long."
Today Nigeria's National Commission for Museums and Monuments will receive a Benin Bronze from the College in the first institutional return of its kind.

We are deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Royal Family. The Queen had an extraordinary ability to connect with everyone and many will remember when we were fortunate enough to welcome her to College.
A huge thank you to Shaun Platt who retires today. He has been a committed member of the Jesus College catering team for more than 37 years. We will miss you! 😢

If one man can’t breathe, we all can’t breathe. If anyone in our community wants to talk about recent events, please contact the College’s welfare team, the College Counsellor, or our student welfare representatives.
**CN: police brutality, violence
Many of you are aware of the events that are currently taking place. These past few days have been traumatic for many people in the Black community. Being confronted again and again by instances of racial violence can wear away at our wellbeing.
Our Master, Sonita Alleyne, has concluded our virtual degree celebration: “I hope that your path will always lead you back here to Jesus, and you’ll feel like you’re coming home. You may be leaving Jesus now, but Jesus will never leave you.”
