Left a pair of expensive gloves on the 38 bus at 5:30am this morning, reported it via the #TransitWatch app and with security at Union Station, got a call back saying the bus operator had found them and they’ll be at lost & found on Monday. Well done @RideRTD & @TransdevNA!

On 6th Aug 1945 an atomic bomb, dropped by the Enola Gay, exploded approx 2000ft above this 7-Eleven store in Hiroshima. The domed building avoided being flattened because it was under the blast and the walls weren’t pushed over. The city will preserve it “as is” indefinitely.

Great to see the Ashington line finally come about. Way back in 2002 I worked on “Project Orpheus”, that looked at possible expansions to the combined Metro / National Rail system in Tyne & Wear.
This week I was lucky enough to ride a Northumberland Line preview service, ahead of public service commencing in December. Here’s a few snaps. 🧵 . Our train at Central, a class 158 Express Sprinter operated by Northern, which will whisk us up to Ashington & back.
