It’s only a cruel world because we allow it. It doesn’t have to be like this. ❄️.

For me, social media has become a 21st century ephemeral diary. Not the old kind that stays hidden away. These are reasoned fragments of how I see the world right now, dropped into a space where anyone can find them, fight them, scroll past them, or silently... 1 of 2

France has made planned obsolescence a criminal offense, becoming one of the first countries in the world to treat deliberate product shortening as a serious crime. Manufacturers caught intentionally designing electronics, appliances, or other goods to fail prematurely or become

The fact vastly more commentators in my old world, British popular journalism, attacked Pep Guardiola for his politics last week than Jim Ratcliffe for his politics this week, is depressing, alarming and a disgrace all at the same time.

@PippaCrerar @johnharris1969 @kiranstacey I listened to your podcast with your two colleagues via the link provided. Quite frankly, I was rather astonished by the commentary. In many respects it reflected a wider pattern that has become common among political commentators, yourself included. I felt that your own

Walk down any city high street and you’ll see Jamaican bakeries next to Punjabi spice shops. You’ll hear Somali mums chatting with Liverpudlian dads while their kids play football in accents no one can quite place but everyone understands. That’s not a crisis. That’s the cure.

Farage is shouting loud and clear, 'I don't care about what the people want, I don't represent the public, I represent the corporations and their profits'.
BREAKING: Nigel Farage calls for an end to working from home and the focus on work-life balance "People aren't more productive working from home - it's a load of nonsense” Whatever you do JUST DON’T VOTE REFORM

I think we haven’t come to terms yet with the reality that every day now something happens that 20 years ago would have been a career-ending global scandal. Our culture has sunk into incredible depths of complacent cruelty and moral degeneracy.

"Uber's defense argued it wasn't "practical" to warn or block "high-risk" matches because thousands of rides would be canceled." 😶!!
Goodness. 19yo woman raped during an Uber ride. The App: Showed a 4.98 star rating. Uber’s Internal AI: Flagged the ride as "High Risk" (0.81/1.0). Uber knew his pattern (late nights/bars) but matched him with a solo woman anyway. Uber's defense argued it wasn't "practical"

I think the press has become used to the idea that it should choose the Prime Minister rather than the electorate, due to the weak resistance of successive Tory governments to infighting and scandals from 2016 onwards. Starmer needs to change that narrative.
I think the political reality is the contest to replace Starmer has to include Burnham. The polls clearly show he's most popular amongst Labour members and the public. Any new leader elected without him on the ballot will just have him looming over their shoulder from Day 1.

Wow, this speech from Mayor of New York Zohran Mamdani 👏💯 "They command us not to believe what we see" "They compel us as George Orwell wrote nearly 80 years ago, to reject the evidence of our eyes and our ears" "And they would succeed, were it not for the many among us who

@JimCognito2016 They print what they’ve given. And it’s checked and double-checked. Printers don’t mess with things and risk losing time and money. This is not the first time Reform UK Ltd has tried this.

Everything changes, whilst nothing changes.
Goosebumps! People often ask, is Shakespeare still relevant? Here is a great example, from the Steven Colbert Show, in which Sir Ian McKellen delivers an extraordinary speech. Shakespeare’s words are timeless, urgent and important. #Shakespeare #ianmckellen #stevencolbert
