For all of you think that Alberta is just doing what Quebec and the UK have, and that everything is working out fine there, please have a listen. A parallel private system will be bad for Albertans.

Our op-ed in the Toronto Star: Premier Ford seems to think the opioid crisis no longer exists. He could not be more wrong. Read our full opinion piece: https://t.co/plp3h0ECPh Premier Ford, we urge you to rescind your decision to close the CTS site at Parkdale Queen West

Between March 2020 and May 2025, the Parkdale CTS recorded 18,454 visits, made more than 12,000 referrals to community services, and reversed 962 overdoses that could have been fatal. That

https://t.co/aXIfUyVpR3 Get used to seeing news like this Alberta... That's a big area unable to deliver close to home. Don't those ABs deserve to be able to safely deliver close to their community? Is HC going in the right direction AB?

I've never finished a difficult ER shift and said "damn, we need privatized healthcare system that allows the rich to jump the queue and get their medical care first drawing away the fixed number of healthcare professionals we have in Canada".

This should be stunning and concerning to ANY Albertan… safe and timely care may not be there for you or your loved ones when you need it.
In 2020, 4% of patients who visited emergency departments left without care. Today, it’s over 20%. Yes, 1 in 5 Albertans leave emergency departments without being seen by a doctor. It is not the license plates that needs fixing, it is our healthcare, education, & our economy.

Albertans used to get COVID-19 vaccines easily and for free at pharmacies. Now access is limited, confusing, and costly. Some must travel hours to get a dose. Vaccines are basic preventative care. It shouldn’t be this hard, and this government has no plan to fix it.

Everyday HC teams are sending pts home earlier than we normally would - because of the immense pressures to make room for the other sick and dying pts We do our best, but this can result in early return to hospital post discharge and inc complications We track this: it’s going⬆️
Have a young friend who had surgery last week to remove a cancerous tumour from their arm. They’re under 40. Their hospital stay was expected to last at least a week. In under 24 hrs, they were suddenly released & sent home - no warning, no plan in place. That’s where we are now!

On the same day & in the same meeting that UCP MLAs moved to undermine citizen recall campaigns against themselves by defunding Elections Alberta, they also voted to not renew the contract of the guy who is investigating the health care corruption scandal. We’re ruled by crooks.
On Monday morning, the UCP voted to get rid of the guy who’s investigating the health contract scandal. https://t.co/1Jyw8Y6To4

Real ED Case in AB 🧵 : Elderly couple 91 and 92yo, living in their own home caring for each other. Slowly declining, as one has worsening dementia, and they can no longer live on their own anymore. No beds to place them in continuing care from the community 1/5

This is simply so wrong..... Although several of us have explained it before let me try again. A short thread. /1 Opinion: Private-pay option will improve access to MRIs and CT scans https://t.co/gt84sVvGgG via @edmontonjournal

It’s really important that more pts and families tell their stories of how the system is currently failing them, and how the trajectory we are on is making things worse. It makes it harder for people to revert to “well as long as I can pay for my care my family will be ok”…
“Really, really disheartening, really frustrating and really stressful,” said Erica Thomas about their experience this week at the Stollery Children’s Hospital We honestly need more pts/families to tell their stories... sadly these are not rare events 1/4 https://t.co/RETuMyUxfu

IF I GET DEMENTIA….. I’d like my family to hang this wish list up on the wall where I live. I want them to remember these things. 1a. Every time you enter the room announce yourself. “Hi Dad - it’s Amanda.” NEVER ask- Do you know who I am??? That causes anxiety. • If I

Public health is a smart, long-term investment in the health and resilience of Alberta. The invisible infrastructure underpins every aspect of our communities. When it’s under-resourced, the consequences are felt everywhere. It must be supported: https://t.co/n3O1dezroj

Hey Alberta, let's have a frank discussion about HC in AB, and specifically in your community. This isn't about how you vote... Let's discuss if our HC system is on the right track and if it is working for you and your loved ones 1/3 https://t.co/WO6sreHM8f
