.13- CSF deals appear to be being done by people w conflicts of interest, and are not following proper due dilligence.14- contracts hidden and no one is ensuring accountabiliy of services delivered.15- charges for services NOT delivered may even occur.6/6.

.9- HCWs being intimidated and silenced.10- anyone with expert knowledge is fired if they raise concerns.11- a Just culture no longer exists in HC.12- pts are at risk if HCWs CANNOT advocate.5/6.

.6- "Refocusing" done without a plan, without budgets, and without change mgt.7- disintegration of services makes idea of MANY service providers a terrible one - no coordination of workforce or services.8- 100s of millions spent on consultants.4/6.

.3- money for CSFs comes from same budget for Hosps = zero sum game. not INCREASED care.4- inc out pt surgery comes at expense of dec in hospital life saving surgery.5 - no one coordinating these services. NO ONE.3/6.

.1- HC system not budgeted for current AB population.2- no Workforce plan in any coordinated way. SO push to go full out on CSF surgical delivery impacted ALL HC Access, and makes care in Hosps worse.2/6.

They should be suing the ONT govt!. The hospitals no longer really have any control over this as govt’s starve budgets and refuse to do manpower planning….

This a massive issue for Rural AB. No one is working on a solution…. This will only get worse under ongoing HC system disintegration.

The govt has broken the HC system. It is in pure chaos and has been fragmented into many uncoordinated pieces. EMS is going to be plunked under the Acute Care AB, and yet ACA doesn't have a budget and can't actually coordinate the many service providers within it.

Was thinking similar when reading this article. We talk about HC in Canada like it is 100% public funded, but we pay almost 30% of all HC costs out of pocket (2nd only to US).- drugs, dental, MH therapy, physio, continuing care, eye care, imaging. comparisons to Europe don't work.
