#Sustainability must be at the heart of the post-#Covid_19 rebuild. Why? ☀️🌀🌊 #Climatechange hasn't gone away. 🌍 Global #ClimateJustice will help to ensure communities are more resilient, not only to climate change, but also to major public health threats.

We need climate solutions that give back to ordinary people! The burden of climate change has to be laid at the feet of those who created the crisis - the billionaires and the megacorporations. #BrídforEurope #rtept

Probably as much as anyone needs to grasp halfway through the 2020s, as world hurtles ever faster towards the ecological abyss. Could we have saved ourselves? Who knows. To be honest, we never even tried.

Storm Babet is already causing havoc in Ireland. There is a risk to life in places - residents of Brechin in Scotland have been told to fully evacuate. Heartbreaking.

Denmark, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands plan to build four artificial islands to quadruple offshore wind in the North Sea – the equivalent of 30 nuclear reactors. We have so many solutions. Implement them. #ActOnClimate #ClimateCrisis #climate #energy #tech #GreenNewDeal

We’re told that capitalism is all about innovation. But capital does not invest in innovations that are not profitable, even if they would dramatically improve well-being and ecology. The quality of innovation could be dramatically improved in a post-capitalist economy.

More proof that @Telegraph no longer just publishes news but also promotes propaganda. This current bout of inflation was triggered by eye-watering increases in the cost of natural gas following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The newspaper’s misinformation campaign helps Putin.

This ecocide as a continuation of Russias unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine is yet another atrocity which leaves the world lost for words. Our eyes are once again on Russia who must be held accountable for their crimes.

Russia blew up Ukraine’s Kakhovka dam wrecking havoc on civilians and the environment downstream on the Dnipro river. Russia’s army was squandered in Ukraine, so it chose to employ water as a weapon. However, this will only increase Ukraine's resolve to drive them off our soil.

And that's why we can't afford greenwashed neoliberalism. We can't afford the same old, same old approach of privileging those at the top of the pyramid of wealth—nationally or globally.

#EarthDay2023 #ClimateChange is about consumption of the very richest people in our global society. 50% of global emissions are emitted by just 10% of the population. 90% of global emissions by 50% of the population. We need to recognise climate justice to save our planet
