NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!
Larassa is planning to return home to her family in Massachusetts. “I’m a fighter — I’m not ready to go yet,” Larassa said. “I got things to do.” She wants to spend her last days catching up with her family, baking, and advocating for the women she left behind at Perryville.

It's indeed blood lust by people who have just never been caught.
Always surprises me to read the blood lust replies to stories about incarcerated people dying or receiving poor health care - even those who have been convicted of the most serious crimes are still protected by the 8th Amendment

Can you guys please give this tweet some rhythm? Someone’s life is in danger. 👇🏽
@CACorrections is actively putting pressure on @vicenews to reveal the “incarcerated” source of a recent article, so thy can punish him/her for being a COVID-19 whistleblower. They’re also planting false info w/ various gangs to try to get them to kill him/her. Where’s the @ACLU?

In the last two decades women's incarceration rates have risen about 600%. Instead of statistic, I'm going to be personal here.

This is what a real lockdown and real courage look like. All the lady lifers I knew in prison were kind and thoughtful They were victims or horrific violence and finally snapped. Most European countries don't have Life sentences.

Since March 1, all I hear is, "Life is short." Woe is me. It's the longest thing you'll ever do. So, get the f*ck up off the couch, shower, get out of your sweats, & research & advance a vision that will set your world on fire. 🔥 And, don't let anyone steal your rainbow. 🌈

I spend the majority of my work hours telling people who are much smarter than me to jump and build the wings on their way down.

Im not going to die “formerly incarcerated,” any more than Frederick Douglass died a “former slave.” Mediocrity pleads with Americans to believe, “People aren’t the worst thing they’ve ever done.” 🙏🏾 I say, “People aren’t the worst thing this country has ever done to them.”

A sentence should not be a death sentence.
If we are “all in this together” then why are we leaving people to DIE from #coronavirus in our jails and prisons?!
