The fire at Lavon Farms has been 100% contained. Crews are starting to be released from the scene as final hot spots are being extinguished. Jupiter is still closed.

Plano Fire-Rescue's Battalion 1, Engine 4, Truck 4 and Rescue 4 are heading to Dallas to help with aftermath of storm. Station 4 personnel are all trained in Special Operations. We're also sending three engines into Richardson to help while they catch up on pending calls.

Plano Fire crews are working several water rescues that involve motorists stranded in stalled vehicles in flooded streets. Please be aware and do not try to drive through the high water.

Plano Fire-Rescue has put "Light Response Vehicles" aka LVR's in service to address the incredibly high number of calls related to fire alarms, fire sprinkler activations and broken water pipes. 5 or more LVR's have operated 24/7 since Monday and have responded to over 650 calls.

hosted a high-rise training with surrounding cities. From March 3 until April 11 nearly 1000 firefighters will be getting the latest training to optimize coordination, communication and to nurture relationships with neighboring departments.

Yesterday was a hard day. We're grateful and thankful for all of the support from neighboring agencies and organizations. Papi was a great man, son, husband, father, friend and brother firefighter. Our hearts are broken by his passing.
Plano Firefighters' hearts are heavy today as we mourn the loss of our brother, Albert "Papi" Valdez. Albert was known as the nicest guy in the fire department & will be missed by all who knew him.
Rest easy, brother. We'll take it from here...

At 4:29 pm crews were called to a partial roof collapse at the Sleep Experts store. The store was not open for business and no people were in the building. FFs are shoring up the remaining parts of the roof to make it safe to enter for investigation. Gas and water shut off.

BREAKING -- Northbound Hwy 75 (Central Expressway) is now closed just north of the Plano Parkway exit due to flooding and high water. Vehicles traveling into Plano are being forced to exit at Plano Parkway.

***Hazmat Update ***
Progress is being made on mitigating the fuel that has leaked into the sanitary sewer lines.
With the road closure moving North of the Motel 6, all of the "Shelter in place" precautions have ended.
Everyone still needs to be cautious around this area.

Plano Fire and Plano Police are working a serious motor vehicle crash at Spring Creek Parkway and Hwy 121. At this time southbound Spring Creek is shut down at 121 and eastbound 121 is shut down while crews work. Please avoid the area.

Plano Fire-Rescue fire investigators have determined the probable cause of Monday’s house explosion to be an isolated gas leak within the home at 4429 Cleveland Drive. The Fire Marshal has emphasized that the leak was isolated to the home and no other homes are in danger.

Confirming that one resident was in the home that exploded on Cleveland Drive. The other five patients transported were residents of the home next door. Staff at Haggard Library felt the explosion.

Crews have been on scene of a mulch pile fire in the 5000-block of Split Trail Road (Spring Creek / US 75) at Living Earth Tech since 3 am. Expect the smoke to persist for awhile as they work to remove the burning mulch from the pile.

Plano Fire-Rescue crews responded to two grass fires near the area of Spring Creek and Jupiter, both believed to be related to fireworks. Currently only one continues to burn and according to the Incident Commander is approximately 70% contained.

Investigation still ongoing for the source of the leak. EPA is now on scene with TCEQ, Plano FD, PD, and Public Works. All agencies are working together on multiple strategies to isolate and eliminate the hazard.

Our crews are at an fire at the Custer Road Transfer Station for a very large compost pile on fire. The fire is contained to the pile and has not affected any structures. Our crews will remain on scene keeping watch on the fire as it burns itself out. This may take a day or two.

Our crews along with Atmos Energy are on scene of a gas leak in the 3300-block of Legacy (Legacy and Marchman). The gas leak was caused by construction work being done on the north side of Legacy. Westbound Legacy has been restricted to one lane of travel so please avoid the area

Crews are onscene of a residential structure fire in the 3000-block of Morton Vale Dr. There were no injuries however the house sustained significant damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation. A total of 48 firefighters responded to this fire. Los Rios Blvd is now open
