Another cold weekend. 🥶 On a positive note, no mosquitoes. Alas, while nature giveth, nature also freezeth pipes. It's time to protect the 4 Ps: 🧥People 🐱Pets 🌺Plants 💦Pipes Cold snaps are temporary. Burst pipes are not.

We’ve all been there, but cold mornings demand a little extra care. ❄️🚗 If you must travel tomorrow, slow down and give yourself extra time. If you can avoid travel, staying home is the safest choice while winter conditions continue.

Cold weather strains homes as much as people. Heat loss happens quietly through windows, doors, ceilings, and floors. 🏠🥶 Small adjustments reduce energy use and improve indoor safety during prolonged cold conditions.

Breaking news: pets are terrible at surviving freezes and excellent at stealing your blankets. ❄️🐕 If you’re cold, they’re colder. Bring pets indoors during the freeze. Extra blankets optional. Couch space no longer negotiable.

It’s also very cold today, so protect your pipes! ❄️ Pipe protection tips: • Drip faucets to keep water moving • Open cabinets under sinks to let warm air in • Insulate exposed pipes if you can • Keep your heat on • Know where your main water shutoff is

Houston, we have an (ice) problem. 🚀🥶 If you stepped outside this morning and immediately did a cautious little shuffle, that’s because it’s slick out there! Roads and sidewalks are icy, so today is a great day to stay home and only head out if it’s an emergency.

If you’re cold, they’re cold. 🐕🧊 They don’t have thumbs, sweaters, or good decision-making skills. Do them a favor and bring them inside to avoid the guilt (and the side-eye).

Icy sidewalks call for your best penguin impression. 🐧 Short steps, flat feet, arms out for balance, and careful curb steps help keep you upright when surfaces get slick. Waddle with purpose and avoid an unexpected winter tumble.

Brrr, it’s cold in here. There must be a cold front in the atmosphere. ❄️🥶 We hope everyone is staying safe and warm as this winter weather continues. If you can, please limit travel to essential needs only and avoid getting out on the roads.

Cold temps are here and your pipes are officially on watch! 👀 Drip those faucets, open up cabinet doors, and keep the heat steady so warm air can do its thing. A few easy moves now can save you from a frozen pipe meltdown later.

You’ve probably already wrapped those outdoor pipes and set the faucets to drip. One more quick check that makes a big difference: know exactly how to shut off the water to your house. When pipes fail, fast shutoff turns a disaster into a minor headache.

Don't be a statistic! Winter roads cause thousands of serious crashes every year. ❄️🚗 Ice and snow change how vehicles handle and how quickly you can stop. Clear your car completely, slow down, avoid cruise control, and leave extra space between vehicles.

If you have not already taken the necessary precautions, today is the day! Wrap those exterior pipes, drip your faucets, and check your doors and windows for any drafts. Make sure you have enough food and water to carry you into early next week!

You have probably heard these terms thrown around a lot lately, but they are not interchangeable. Snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain all form differently and each brings its own hazards. ❄️ Small temperature changes can shift precipitation type and dramatically change impacts.

So you've taken care of your 4 P's. But did you maybe forget one final preparedness step? 😯 Double-check your sprinklers and make sure you've turned them off as the temps dip tonight. Running your sprinklers in freezing temperatures can result in an unexpected ice sculpture!
