It's been enjoyable watching people melt down here after the Secretary of Transportation asked people not to wear a Winnie the Pooh onesie for their 50 minute flight to Decatur

It can be hard to remember this in the tumult and bustle of holiday travel, but no one wants to hear about your layover. Remember the golden criterion for layover stories: is it so interesting that someone would voluntarily relate it to a third party? The answer is always "no".

Calling it "allspice" when it's not a universal seasoning is a form of misandry.

(1) I love India (2) Anybody who applies for an e-visa to India knows the website is always comically, profoundly, embarrassingly broken It looks like it was written in 2003, kicks you out randomly without saving your work, won't charge your credit card until your nineteenth

Every one of these people were right and they got more and more right as time went on. The decline has been steady and conspicuous.

Calling anyone with a PhD "doctor" is confusing, but their hard work merits an honorific. I propose we call them "Your Debtscellency"

It would cost something like half a trillion dollars to put astronauts on Mars to plant a flag. Building and sustaining a Mars colony would cost hundreds of trillions of dollars. There are sound reasons why we don't colonize airless wastelands hundreds of millions of miles away.
A good reminder that the amount of money that has been poured into “aid” for decolonized Africa would have been enough to pay for multiple colonies on Mars We could have had Rhodesia and Mars colonization; instead we have neither, and a bevy of tin pot dictators with Swiss bank

This is a nice example of how rudderless our human spaceflight program has become. We have the two most dynamic space launch companies in history bringing in a new era of cheap launch vehicles, so why are taxpayers paying for Starliner? What is the point of the space station it
NASA Statement. Contract with Boeing modified to four Starliner flights. April 2026 mission with an uncrewed Starliner, followed by three crewed flights if that goes well. >In 2014, NASA awarded a Commercial Crew Transportation Capability contract to Boeing to fly astronauts to

I think there was a real lost opportunity to launch the book "THERE IS NO ANTIMEMETICS DIVISION" without ever actually writing it

The Black Sea has deep anoxic pools at the bottom that are one useful proxy for searching for life on Mars. Oxygen-free water is hard to find on Earth!
Really cool little map of the Black Sea. Quite a bit of drama in this visual I would say. Source: https://t.co/N04mZQRvhr
