This was one of the most important and moving sessions I have ever witnessed! We need a more modern view of palliative care: Make it early Make it interdiciplinary Make it basic - specialized palliative are is only needed in the few.

World first in #Transplant: 3 days ago surgeons from Univ Maryland transplanted a genetically engineered 🐷 pig heart into a patient. 4 pig genes out and 6 human genes inserted. The World will be watching this story unfolding… 🤞 https://t.co/8bfaqKMHQ6

I just finished 2 weeks of rounding on a medicine service. Pro-tip: send your students to watch/learn from their patients’ procedures. H&Ps are a dime a dozen while encounters with subspecialists may impact a career decision. Case in point: an EGD/ERCP opened my eyes to GI 💩

This AASLD meeting has 10 times more content on healthy diet, exercise and alcohol abstinence and the need of better public health policies. Finally we are tackling the root of the problem: in 2021, most liver diseases can be prevented !!! #livertwitter @AASLDtweets #LiverMtg21

Dr Reid argues that we should change our focus from cultural competence to cultural humility to recognise the value in other cultures. Respect is the key issue. Well enunciated and truly welcome. #LiverMtg21 @HowardTLeeMD @AtoosaRabiee
