Spouse was due to represent England Masters in 2024 but suffered severe tendon tear one week before realising her ambition. I watched her suffer through rehab and setbacks until, at the Great North 10k, she not only made the start line but won gold for England. I'm soooo proud.

Hope you're tuned in to watching Faith Kipyegon. I wasn't around for Roger Bannister but am really excited for this. (Shame the Nike coverage is a relentless barrage of vacuous psychobabble but you can't have everything).

Nearly done reading Blood Meridian. I had no idea that The Road was one of McCarthy's more optimistic and light-hearted books.

And she’s even kind enough to let me run with her sometimes, although she makes it look far easier than I do and I really dread her more intense training sessions.

Glowing with pride for my spouse who suffered a serious tendon rupture that stopped her doing the thing she loved most. She doggedly got on with prolonged rehab and today she had her first competitive 10k race in 2 years, running sub-40 and qualifying to represent England masters.
