THIS x10000000! 👇🏽 I’ve found planning & design regs in EVERY California city to be in direct conflict with their stated climate action goals. We need activist owner groups to sue their cities to review & overhaul the full design review & historic preservation process.
We talk a lot about climate tech and buildings etc. but my friends, US cities are filled with ancient buildings and codes/regulations that are custom-tailored to prevent upgrades of any kind. The average climate activist has no idea how hard it is to retrofit an old building …

SF is delaying the inevitable: fully pedestrianizing Valencia Street. (This bike lane is a DEATHTRAP!) Thanks for speaking out @LukeBornheimer and for pressuring @SFMTA_Muni to stop maiming and killing cyclists in this city by prioritizing cars.
Had a chance to speak with ABC 7 about the Valencia unprotected center cycle track. SFMTA should create a design for curbside protected bike lanes so they have it ready when the center cycle track continues to have issues or if someone is killed. Or just pedestrianize Valencia.

I'm watching #electrifyeverything get politicized. Be careful. Focus on benefits. No shaming. No politics. Be VERY careful with climate, better to avoid it. Aim for the mainstream. Don't stop it before the movement really starts.
