This shows a complete lack of understanding of the political reality on the ground. It's important for junior ministers to listen to Parliament as it is the role of Parliament to have a say on policy. Yesterday showed there is a broad consensus for UK Gov to recognise Somaliland.
Adjournment debate in @HouseofCommons underlines consistent UK government position on Somaliland status. It is for SL & Federal Gov of Somalia 🇸🇴 to decide their future. We continue to cooperate with Fed Gov of Somalia & SL on democracy, security & prosperity.

@wamaxamed The average Somalilander doesn't even pay $100 a year in taxes and yet he expects road, hospital, schools and security lol! In the western countries people pay a lot of taxes and they still expected to paid rent, water, electricity, school meals & dental care. These have no idea!

@BBCSomali Notice how Cirro rejects the role of supreme court of the Republic of Somaliland. He's said it's not their job. All disputes especially a constitutional disputes are the supreme court's responsible and job to clarify, explain & rule upon those constitutional disputes. #Somaliland
