I was delighted to see the Tobacco & Vapes Bill pass its Second Reading! As Co-Chair of the APPG on Smoking and Health, I have long called for a SmokeFree generation. This is a a matter close to my heart, both of my parents sadly died from smoking-related cancer.

Biggest public health reform in a generation introduced to Parliament today by our Government. We’ll deliver the first ever smoke-free generation, clamp down on youth vaping and reduce the costs to lives and taxpayers caused by smoking.

We’re introducing the Tobacco and Vapes Bill to protect the public, NHS and economy from the harms of smoking. Our plans include banning smoking outside schools, children’s playgrounds and hospitals. @CMO_England Professor Chris Whitty explains 👇 https://t.co/5bBJaIog7U

Important polling on public support for creating a healthier society. People value the wellbeing of themselves, their family and their community and understandably want a government on the same page.

So much about the immigration and asylum system is just completely unknown to people day to day. Some examples:

Free legal advice: You don’t have to attend a riot to be prosecuted for conspiracy to riot. You don’t have to be present at a terrorist incident to be guilty of encouraging it. A lot of Twitter warriors will be getting some unpleasant knocks on the door over the coming weeks.

Right I have gone through the latest 20mph data for Wales and have made this video. However, I know many of you prefer a thread so I've done that as well. Long story short, 20mph seems to be working VERY well and is already paying for itself. [Thread]

It bears repeating (1/3): the hypothesis is not that ultra-processed products are uniformly unhealthy or universally 'bad' - but that ultra-processed diets undermine health, and for reasons which extend beyond nutrient composition.
