In this piece, @AmyKaram asks: What are the implications for economic security and global competitiveness of Canada’s not being a leading #5G player in its own right? What does this say about our national performance on innovation?
cigionline.org
China has been driven to grow and win at all costs, and 5G is one of the strategic, global industries on which Beijing has chosen to focus. China operates by different rules than the West. The effect...

How should we understand the relationship between national security and economic security in Canada? How can we facilitate a broad-based conversation about it?

New from @PGoff1 and myself: as we re-imagine national security in today's technological and geopolitical context, economic security is very much front and centre in considerations. We unpack what this means.

The US and EU should allow the WTO to grant a modified TRIPS waiver for COVID-vaccines. That would be good for developing countries, the WTO, the Biden Admin, even for pharma companies. Here's why. A thread on trade, intellectual property, and vaccines. 1/
