A high performance, homegrown Solana validator Developing the full node client Mithril Team: @7LayerMagik & @dubbel06
Joined May 2022
1/ At Accelerate today, @pkxro presented the significant progress our team has made on Mithril—our Solana "verifying full node" client written in Golang—and the news that Solana users will soon be able to fully verify Solana with commodity hardware. https://t.co/YGzcPzTyKq

We will be refocusing these resources toward projects like Mithril. Thank you for the support Diablo stakers and we hope you’ll continue with our primary validator. Reach out to us and we will reimburse one epoch of lost rewards during the transition for verified stakers.

Although we have already sunk quite a lot of $ into hardware for this server, very low block rewards in recent months and high voting fees ($60k to $80k per year) make continuing untenable, even if we raise commissions.

Diablo, based in Bogotá, Colombia, was our effort to run a different validator client from our primary validator and to improve geographic diversity, including learning the challenges of operating in a more remote region.

Unfortunately, we will be closing down our Diablo validator (~NOT our main validator~) in 4 epochs due to the high costs involved and low block rewards as of late. https://t.co/yWmQcnSVp7

The Great SFDP purge continues. Good riddance, honestly. Move your stake to high quality operators. Stake with us, @OverclockSol, @ProStaking_, @stakeware_xyz and @lakestakeio. Choose quality, responsive, and informed operators. The validators rugging right now have been
The amount of rugs happening is alarming🚨… Do yourself a favor and check out https://t.co/bLFLZcv7cZ

🤢🤢🤢 With no change to voting fees anytime soon and REV being super low... we will probably be shutting down our Diablo validator in Bogota, Colombia :/ We have put $10's of thousands into it so far and wanted to run both clients... Please make a smarter voting fee system!

@AdityaShetts @akisaxena @NitanshuL @encifherio @_arihantbansal @ArciumHQ @dubbel06 from @bonsol_labs shared how bonsol's framework lets devs run complex computations offchain while maintaining onchain verifiability. > cryptographic proofs for heavy tasks > ZKPs for ensuring security > built with @RiscZero > public beta available for testing.

Overclock will be voting Yes on SIMD-0326, which integrates AlpenGlow’s Votor protocol into Solana. While concerns about limited validator incentives for performant voting may be valid, we think they can be addressed at a future time. IBRL 🏔️🌞⛷️ https://t.co/5HroOFjWxM

Over 250 validators (representing over 9% of @Solana stake) have joined @DoubleZero's testnet. 🧪 As we prepare for DoubleZero's formal launch, let’s lay out the benefits and fees for validators, across the short-term, medium-term, and long-term. ↓

Jito is setting the gold standard for token alignment. @jito_sol now plans to route 100% of Block Engine + new BAM fees to their DAO treasury (prev split ~50/50 with Labs), following their 39/40 score on @blockworksres' transparency framework https://t.co/JPpmU7r7fw

DoubleZero has launched a 3M SOL stake pool. It’s designed to expand DoubleZero’s high-performance fiber network, support early testnet users, accelerate validator performance and unlock geographic decentralization across the @Solana ecosystem long-term. Let’s break down what

These validators have committed to keeping Solana decentralized, ultra-fast, and healthy. We are lucky to welcome them all to the Marinade family.

Solana announced upcoming changes that improve decentralization - decrease validator costs by 80% by removing vote fees (new consensus mech) - finalize a verifying full node that runs on consumer to support at home verification (built by @OverclockSol) Interesting

11/ Lastly, we couldn’t have done it without our amazing team and great collaborators. Special shout-outs go to Shaun (smcio on GitHub), our lead Mithril developer, and newer Overclock team member Palmer, whose performance tweaks this past week were outstanding.

10/ Ultimately, we expect to see Mithril verifying blocks very close to the tip of chain with commodity hardware. If you want to follow our progress more closely, check out the Mithril Development channel in our discord or head to the Mithril github repo https://t.co/IhaoRgq1re

9/ Longer term, though still in short order, we will be: 1) Adding consensus verification (currently trusting confirmed/finalized status from RPC providers). Low resource usage expected 2) Optimizing more 3) Improving MyPreciousDB 4) Simple RPC functionality
