Past Tuesday (15/11), American Airlines Flight 1855, a B-737, was involved in a bird strike incident in Kansas (US). No injuries reported. On approach, jet struck a flock of geese damaging nose, wing and engine. Updates when possible.

in 2013: National Airlines Flight 102, a cargo B-747, crashes in Bagram (Afghanistan), all 7 aboard die. On takeoff, improperly secured load broke free and rolled down cargo deck. This affected the aircraft´s balance and also damaged controls, making a recovery impossible.

in 1988: Ramstein airshow disaster (West Germany). Three Italian Air Force MB-339´s collide in mid-air during a display at Ramstein AFB, killing the pilots. One of the jets crashes into the crowd and explodes. 67 spectators are killed and another 346 are seriously injured.
A KLM cabin crew practicing with an AR-10 sometime in the 50s. As some of the airline´s routes overflew arctic regions, in case of an emergency landing, people aboard might have to fend off a bear or wolf hungry for dinner. So, better carry the right tools for defense.

in 2016: a US Navy E-2 [165293] is involved in an incident off Virginia (US), all 3-crew unhurt. On landing in carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, arrestor cable snapped due to maintenance issues. 8 sailors were injured. Aircraft was undamaged and crew made a "go-around".

in 1975: a General Dynamics prototype YF-16 [72-1568] crash lands in Texas (US). Test pilot Neil Anderson made a wheels-up landing in a grassy area along the runway after he reported landing gear problems. He was unhurt, jet rebuilt, and testing program continued.
You read that right: One plane has a runway excursion. A 2nd flight comes to bring passengers back and it also crashes. That´s not a B-movie plot, it really happened.

Footage of a Russian AF Mig-31 going down, taken by its wingman. You can see the crew eject long before impact. Reportedly it´s recent and was taken by its wingman (I say reportedly as I have no other confirmation, although I have no reason to doubt them.
