#OTD in 2017: Westwind Flight 282, an ATR-42, crashes in Saskatchewan (Canada). Of 25 aboard, 1 dead, 9 severe injuries. Shortly after take-off plane lost height, hit trees. Inquiry stated aircraft was improperly deiced, noting issues with airline SOP and authorities supervision.

Unfortunately we had to cancel our under 7s ‘Little Flyers’ drawing competition. There were lots of entries, but you’d think they’d never seen a plane in their lives. What an absolute load of shite. I worry about the next generation of engineers.
