It’s equally important to recognize the emotional strain of anti-racism work. “Rest is resistance” is a good reminder for self care because truthfully, you can’t serve your community if you don’t take care of yourself. #1834Conference (2/2)

To the next person that underestimates young women, the honking in Ottawa stopped because of a 21 year old’s lawsuit - not the city, not the police...

20 years ago my dad met someone he’ll never forget. At his Masters grad from @uofg Mr. Alexander shook his hand, looked at him and said “you are my brother” That’s who he was. A Black Canadian icon who set the stage for many after him #LincolnAlexander100 #LincolnAlexanderDay

"It's not enough to be non-racist, we must be anti-racist" -A. Davis I hope to see more student and health organizations incorporate this training and intentionally prioritize an EDI lens in their work. Highly recommend @OfficialJohiseN and @leatessi!

Maryam Monsef is one of the best things that has ever happened to politics in Canada. I’m not saying that in defeat, I’m saying it in acknowledgment.

So, when my kids ask me why I keep going, I tell them diversity in politics matter. I tell them in your family, we are both literally and figuratively survivors.

One of the hardest things for me is knowing when to walk away, @iamcelinacc just said it so beautifully “there’s a difference between quitting and making a conscious decision to leave when love isn’t being served” #1834Conference #ThatPART

Listening to Marie-Daphne Laguerre, Paula Folkes-Dallaire and Diana Idibe’s panel at the #1834Conference talking about “Managing Shifting Realities” in the public service. Anti-black racism and Covid-19 both pushed for systemic responses. (1/2)

Just ordered @iamcelinacc book #CanYouHearMeNow and I can’t wait to read it. I found my notes from a speech she gave at Daughters of the Vote in 2017 and I still hold on to these words today! It takes strength to tell your story and as a woman who’s building my own - thank you
