The fact that we have legislation pursuing Greenland statehood but not Puerto Rico or DC (or any of the other territories) is exactly as hypocritical as it sounds.

All members of Congress who vote in favor of Randy Fine’s "Greenland Annexation and Statehood Act" should be sanctioned and denied entry to the EU.

I'm listing the hell out of Derek Webb's "Fruit on the Tree". Three beautiful songs furious at the church's bigotry and the angry little gods of this age of hatred and control. https://t.co/qVhSAu3yJJ

I had a friend in college who would interrupt me whenever we were hanging out as a group. She was incredibly kind, so our group figured she just didn't realize when I was talking. Finally we let her talk over me for a while to test our theory and had to stop her after 10 seconds.

When I was 19, I worked part time at Dairy Queen, and during my break time, I read "The Great Divorce" by C.S. Lewis. The owner of the store, an older lady, was so disturbed I was reading a book by this name. "Nothing is great about divorce!" she would say. "It's actually not

Nothing destroys the myth of America as a Christian nation more quickly than when cruelty is policy.

This administration is making America cruel. Christian agencies that resettle refugees (like World Relief and Global Refuge) desperately need support now that Trump has pulled the rug out from under refugees already here. https://t.co/Xm4ZkfUPBw

The best part of Capital One having cafés in some of their branches is that you can arrange to meet someone there with minimal chance of it being misinterpreted as anything other than business.

The only article I've read on rising right-wing populism that actually feels hopeful:

Back in 2020 I made a playlist for myself that's meant to guide my emotions from anger to sadness to hope, meant for my perspective as a liberal Christian. It's my playlist this morning.

While this playlist will evolve, the order is intentional, and it should be listened to in order. It takes the listener on a journey. First anger, then to action and optimism which runs up hard...

WATCH THIS. Then imagine it with MUCH larger, faster, deadlier and more polluting boxes that are shockingly energy inefficient, create “box dependency,” undermine public health & use up most of the public money… THEN it’s like cars. HT @urbanthoughts11

Here’s the thing about induced demand: research consistently shows a one-to-one relationship. Studies over the past 50 years reveal that if a city increased road capacity by 10%, driving went up by 10%. Add 11%, and driving increased by 11%. That’s why, even on the 401—one of

Some of us have been screaming forever about re-structuring our cities, towns, and roads to make transportation & everyday life more active and fun, but conservatives go apeshit crazy if driving is ever slightly more inconvenient for them

Lifting weights, strength training, running, remaining trim and fit. This makes you feel better, stronger, happier. The trouble is it’s artificial and not fun. That gyms have tvs all over underscores this. What ancestors did hunting and working we do watching CNN. There must be

Personal news for those who know me: my mom died yesterday. I've been in California at home with her for the past few weeks, and I'm still trying to figure out how grief is going to impact me. I'll be fine, eventually, but wow what a hole she's going to leave.

It's actually kind of cute that the EU freaks out when a far-right party gets like 15% of the vote. Like bro, we've got whole regions run by these guys and they have a solid 45% of the national vote. You all could be SO much worse.

In a European parliamentary system, Nikki Haley would probably start a new political party, win a third-place finish, deny both major parties a majority, and play kingmaker after the general election.
