Everyone processes a cancer diagnosis differently. Some remain quiet. Some go public. Some choose battle metaphors; others meditate. All are valid. It’s important to give space for everyone to process their experiences in their own way. The patient gets to choose.

What you see: Disabled person out and about. What you don’t see: What it took for them to get out, what it’ll do to them later, the amount of pain they’re in but hiding right now, the sacrifices they’re making to be out, the harm it’s caused them.

The immense damage being done to society by the government’s war on disabled people is visible: disabled people getting abused online, verbally (and physically) attacked on the streets, subjected to dehumanising language, destroying our mental health, causing fear and distress.

Your regular reminder that PIP is not an out-of-work benefit and that PIP is meant to pay for the extra costs that disability incurs. The government is trying to conflate it with out-of-work benefits deliberately.

I asked Liz Kendall if she could say that no disabled person would be left worse off after these cuts. She could not. Shouldn't that be enough to realise this is the wrong thing to do?

To those who relentlessly attack disabled people, what makes you think you’re immune from illness or disability? Everyone is one illness or injury away from disability. No-one is immune. One day you could be disabled & on the receiving of stigma, hatred & cruel govt policies.
