It's both and. Not either or. Covid has affected our ability to think clearly and well. So has not reading good books. Forget Harry Potter or 50 shades. Excellent fiction builds empathy and fuels creativity. Strong non fiction provides vital wisdom and insight. Both. And.
Covid x4 Covid damages the frontal lobe, disrupts executive function, flattens emotional nuance & erodes critical thinking. That’s why people seem more impressionable, irritable, impulsive & cognitively inconsistent. Not because they didn’t read Harry Potter & Fifty Shades.

Hello Tuesday! May it be life-giving for you in whatever way you need. A picture of the sunrise I took just after meditating this morning

Hate doesn't interest me. That said, I don't feel safe in the US and doubt I will ever feel safe again there, even after T. is gone. Also, demonstrably, given the enormous damage he has done both to the US and other countries, he can't be trusted with more power.
“This is Canada. If you want to live in Trump’s America, or want our country to become Americanized, then leave. The vast majority of Canadians hate Donald Trump, and the Conservatives are traitors for pushing MAGA propaganda.”

It's not good. In fact, for small children and those who love them, the picture is extremely grim.
A child born today will experience climate change as a constant force shaping their health, education and wellbeing. The impacts don’t happen in isolation -they create a trickle-down effect across their entire development: Prenatal: Extreme heat & poor air quality increase risks

It's fixable. But it needs to be addressed at the elementary and middle school levels. By high school, not only have you run through most of your available time to remediate, but teenagers are firmly embedded in habits inimicable to developing strong reading and writing skills.
Gen Z are arriving to college unable to read a sentence: “Even when you read it in class with them, there’s so much they can’t process about the very words that are on the page.” The generational effects of this will be devastating. https://t.co/18pDY5NZ7t

This in fact epitomises the perspective of Big Money/Big Oil/Big Greed. This is how we got to this place of #ClimateCrisis .
Imagine looking at one of the last pristine wilderness areas on earth and all you can think is “this would be good for a data center” Truly evil shit

Shocker. Not vaccines, screens, lockdowns, stress, diet. Covid! Its wide-ranging effects on immunity and the systems throughout your body. Who knew? Well, sufferers of Long Covid have been aware for years, as have the rest of the Covid conscious. Nice to see others catching up.
Published TODAY And NO, they don't say that the "surprising cause" is the vaccines. Or screens. Or the lockdowns. Or stress. Or diet.

They had a gentler pace!
Today is Plough Monday, the first Monday after Epiphany. This was traditionally the first day back at work after the Christmas holiday, and it was celebrated by blessing tools of work - a way of starting off the new year well, but also an excuse for some last Christmas festivity!

Also During Covid. And also taking into account all the effects of Covid on every system of the body, leading to countless other upsetting graphs.
COVID did *not* just magically end on 19 July 2021, the UK’s so-called ‘Freedom Day’. In fact, the level of Covid infections during the period often referred to as “During Covid” was only the very tip of the iceberg compared to what came (and *continues* to come) afterwards…

To everyone cancelling their World Cup tickets in the US, Canada is hosting games in Toronto and Vancouver. Mexico is hosting games in Mexico City, Zapopan, and Guadalupe.

In a sane world, this would be front page news everywhere. But it will hardly be covered anywhere. The North Pacific Ocean surface warmed over twice as much over the past 15 years than it did over the preceding 156 years. That's an increase in warming rate of >2000%!
Acceleration of warming is especially clear over the North Pacific Ocean, which warmed more than twice as much over the past 15 years than it did over the preceding 150 years!

Imagine if the world's sixth largest employer, with one point five four million employees, about 5% of its country's workforce, published data showing there had been: 1) A 50% rise in staff deaths, 2) A 50% rise in retirement of staff due to ill health, 3) A 30% rise in
