As promised, here's my thread of resources for learning Linux (Linux/bash/command line). Every resource I used was free 😀
(I just wanted to learn linux for fun since i kept hearing about it; the LPI Linux Essentials exam was the right exam for me)
This is a safe space right?
I just found out PING stands for Packet Internet Gopher.
I didn't even realize it was an acronym, I thought it was ping as in ping pong.
Keep ya judgements to yourself, thankyouverymuch
I just remembered back in 2019-ish when I was studying like crazy & applying for jobs, some1 tweeted "We need more bláck womén in téch", I replied "I'm trying! I'm trying!", she responds, "Don't try. Do."
Like wtf kind of useless advice was that?? As if I can just demand a job
Friendly reminder to anyone planning on visiting the state of Georgia, don't go to Lake Lanier 😊 If anyone ever suggests Lake Lanier to you, tell them no.

I've waited a really long time to do this 😭😭😭
All the experienced NetEngs I know are incredibly good looking & have oodles of money. So if you want to become sex symbol with a fat wallet, become a Network Engineer.
To all you 'Experts' & super experienced people in computer networking, thanks for interacting w/ way less experienced & new folks like myself. I have no idea why yall even follow me. But I KNOW if i ask a question, 1 of yall will try to help & w/out judgement. Thats really sweet
@notshenetworks
I thought you were talking about football linemen and was curious to what a bucket bunny was. After a few Twitter searches, I now see the linemen you're talking about are electricians. I had no idea they had groupies 🤷🏾♀️
@iceolation_1906
That's what I said too until I realized inflation was a result. These corporations saw we had a little more change in our pockets, they got greedy, then decided to raise the prices of everything
I want a 2nd job. A lil IT Technician gig. Something that gets me out the house. Something where I'm touching routers, switches, servers etc, and troubleshooting - maybe even in the data center space. Shoot, idk.
Im not sure where to look, but that's a 2024 goal of mine
That dude passed his Sec+ in 50days with no exp then passed the CEH shortly after. Why did he have to come on here to ask us if that email was a scam or not.
1) My
#1
favorite was the Linux courses on
@CiscoNetAcad
site. I did NDG Linux Unhatched (beginner) then NDG Linux Essentials (intermediate)
START HERE!! I CANT RECOMMEND THESE 2 COURSES ENOUGH. create an account and get to learning. IT'S EASYYYYYY!!
Dear Georgians or people wanting to visit Georgia,
Never go to Lake Lanier.
Every year people die or end up missing at Lake Lanier.
Don't let the people you care about go to Lake Lanier.
Never go to Lake Lanier.
Never go to Lake Lanier.
NEXT at 6:30 a.m.: 2 fishermen missing after boat crash on Lake Lanier
@CJenningsWSB
is there to show you where crews are searching for them, on Channel 2 Action News This Morning.
@CioaraJeremy
@TracketPacer
hey Jeremy, why do you follow zero people on here? it would be helpful TO YOU to follow some women in tech. you'd learn a lot
Don't follow BowTiedCyber's advice for ITcerts in 30 or 60 days if you're completely new. Even he admits that he had lots of computer networking & basic IT knowledge before taking these exams. Apparently he's trying to sell course(s).
Please do not quote tweet TechLead (that ex-google, ex-fazebook man). There are lots of people who think like him. No need to help spread his message & help his audience grow.
"Hi everyone. I'm in the market for a new full-time non-contract role in Cybersecurity/Cloud or Project Manager position. I have 2.5 years of experience working in a Fortune 500 company as a Systems Engineer & Security Engineer with over 12,000 clients & 21 Business Units. (1/3)
Gore & his experts presented their data & concerns so clearly that even my young self could see we were in big trouble in a few decades, so I never understood why adults were mocking them when they should've been listening and planning for our future.
I follow a good amount of experienced network engineers on here and honestly I have no idea what y'all are talking about half of the time 🤣🤣
One day y'all's tweets will make sense
I'm thankful for Twitter and being able to connect with all of you computer networking and IT folks. I would've never met any of you in real life. You strangers are good people.
Darren (
@mellowdrifter
) and I have been Twitter buddies for years and I didn't even recognize him when I saw him today. I walked right past him 😭😭
He has a cool accent!
#AONELiveAsheville
I'm glad I was able to meet the super talented
@cloudbart
& get a pic with him last year. This pic is funny b/c even tho it seems like he's looking to the side, he was just looking at the wrong end up my phone tehehe!
🙏🏾 Prayers up for his family.
He was a burst of sunshine 🖤
Between trying to find an remote position i'm qualified for and trying to take advantage of these reduced/free services/exams that companies are advertising, I am stressed. Some days I get so overwhelmed trying to figure out what to do, that I end up not doing anything at all
Just stumbled upon a man on here who has 'CCIEx8' & CCDE in his bio....I didnt even know there were 8 ccies to obtain....not 1, not 2, not 3, but 8 (eight) CCIEs & CCDE.... i dont even want to think about the amount of hours of studying and thousands of dollars spent.
Me personally, if I had an arrangement, an entanglement with a professional baller which included a monthly allowance, y'all would never find out. I'd just buy whatever I wanted with the lying ass caption of "this that Network Engineering money 💅🏾💅🏾"
I finally finished the 'Google IT Support Professional Certificate' For folks like myself trying to get into the tech field, I'd recommend this course. I finished in 5 weeks, & took an entire notebook full of notes. It was a lot of reading, watching, learning, & hands-on labs 🙂
I stumbled upon the "Google IT Support Professional Certification" self-paced course on
@coursera
. So far it's pretty nice and I've been learning a lot. It's separated into 5 courses that take 6 sections each.
I'll be using this thread to update my studies.
#LabEveryday
So I decided to give vim another chance, and ya know what, i think im starting to see the hype. wow, i think i could possibly end up liking vim more than nano
Do y'all have a reason for creating y'all's Twittter account?
Mine was to follow people working in computer networking & follow folks trying to get into networking.
My grandma was complaining to me all day that her home phone wasn't working. Drove to her house, unplugged the base for 30 seconds, then plugged it back it, & now the phones work.
Now she's on the phone telling her lil friends how she's proud of "my little electrical engineer"
