Hoping @SolomonforJC’s laser focus on affordable housing will eventually include support for 1,000 new homes downtown at 150 Bay Street - including 150 income-restricted units! . In a race this close, deciding to become a pro-housing candidate could make all the difference!.

Our campaign has been laser-focused on the issues that voters care about: more affordable housing, lowering costs for working people, and standing up to corruption for better quality of life.

My hometown ran an affordable housing survey, and the results are in: People strongly agree that we need more affordable housing, and are entirely unwilling to pay for it.

Between this and lack of support for a new elementary school at 150 Bay, it is starting to feel like certain officials are not especially interested in a kid-friendly downtown!.

In Jersey City, the city council could have approved a plan to build a playground here, making the pedestrian plaza more family-friendly and closing Barrow forever. Instead, a few business owners want private parking for themselves and our politicians voted down the playground!

From PATH: .At 6:19 a.m. this morning, a fire started under an eastbound train in the Newport PATH Station. The train filled with smoke, and passengers were evacuated on the platform. Several were treated for smoke inhalation. PATH employees and JCFD are on the scene; the cause

One of the great joys of building more housing and adding new neighbors is how much it helps to grow local businesses and organizations. If you want to see support for the Art House grow, please consider letting the city council know with our petition:.

Great news for Meredith Burns and Team @jim_mcgreevey: if they want to support artists, the proposed housing at 150 Bay is a slam dunk!. It will help in two ways: 100 units set aside for artists to live and work, and hundreds of new patrons living kitty-corner from the Art House!.

OUT OF TOUCH. John Corzine wasn’t from New Jersey. Phil Murphy wasn’t from New Jersey. And Mikie Sherrill isn’t from New Jersey. That’s why none of them seem to get it. The supposedly pro-environment Democrats are taking garden right out of the Garden State with all the.

Can I ask folks a favor? Next time you’re waiting on @PATHTrain and there’s a delay or a long headway, can you make a quick 10-15 second video calling on Kevin O’Toole to resign?. I want to edit them together and submit a supercut to the next @PANYNJ board meeting.

“We must demand a new approach to growth, one that reflects the values of the people who actually live here.”. Does the value of more housing and more neighbors matter to her? Or does she just want to put up a big “CLOSED” sign so fewer families move to Jersey City?.

“If you make something easier and cheaper for someone to do, they will do it more often. If you make it harder and more expensive, they will do it less often.”. My latest for @BetterBlocksNJ: something to link if you hear the misconception that less parking leads to more cars!.

A common refrain in the discourse around housing, development, and street safety is the question, "Where will they park?". Jersey City is a leader in eliminating parking minimums from new development and has one of the nation's highest rates of car-free households as a result.

Hoping this means @SolomonforJC will support the proposal for more homes here in the Arts District at 150 Bay - including 100 subsidized units set aside specifically for artists!. How about it, councilman? Let’s build some affordable housing and give back to the arts community!.

2/ Our city is bursting with local talent — from musicians and painters to dancers and poets. As your next Mayor, I’ll make sure Jersey City’s focus and money go toward Jersey City artists — so it remains a place where artists can afford to live, work, and inspire.
