While we’re talking about policing in South Florida. Four women and girls accused Hialeah officer Jesús Menocal Jr. of sexual assault. Instead of disciplining him, the chief gave him a raise. Prosecutors wouldn’t trust the victims in court.

McClatchy is using a new parent in our newsroom as a bargaining chip, refusing to grant her the parental leave it is giving to non-unionized newsrooms. In response, our entire staff came together to donate our PTO to her. The company refused. This is cruel and pointless.
